Mirasol Solar Reviews

As a retired General Contractor, I always used 3 criteria for choosing a sub contractor. Will they do what they said they would do? Will they do it in the time frame that they said that they would it? Will they do it for the price that they contracted for? Mirasol passed all of these criteria with flying colors. First. I am a big proponent of solar energy. When I moved to Florida, solar was Priority 1. Why would anyone not take advantage of solar? You know energy costs from FPL will continue to rise? You know fossil fuels are responsible for the extreme climate change that we are experiencing? You know that you want to leave the world a better place for your grandchildren? You know that solar is an asset that will improve the value of your property? Those were all easy answers. I got 4 estimates before I choose Mirasol. I also learned a lot about solar panels, panel placement and storage batteries. 3 of these estimates came from Tier 1 manufacturers , the other "provided a Tier 1 panel", but they didn't know which panel it would be until installation time. Obviously the lowest price panel they could get! They didn't make the first cut. I wanted to make sure that the manufacturer of the panels not only provided an excellent product, a 25 year warranty and that they were a solid company with excellent financials. Why would I care about a company making a profit. First profit is not a bad word and it's essential to be able to survive in business. It's no use having a 25 year warranty if the company goes out of business in 10 years. SunPower ticked all of the boxes and Mirasol Solar has been the SunPower distributor in the area for years. So SunPower and Mirasol made the cut. Another interesting fact was that Mirasol didn't bug me and try to offer me deals to sign right away, questioning when I was going to make a decision and just being annoying. In fact it was the opposite, I had to chase them. I had some "what if's" we do this, or can we increase efficiency here? They were responsive and also made some suggestions as to how to reduce my energy consumption such as installing a Variable Speed pool pump and a hybrid heat pump hot water system, all of which was included in the estimate - and in my Federal Tax credit. Once the contract was signed, Mirasol had to coordinate with my roofing company (I was also getting a new roof) but they were able to keep to my schedule by juggling personnel. Installation date finally arrived with the install of two Tesla Powerwalls in my garage and then the roof panels. The installation was a work of art! Clean, everything laid out and perfectly symmetrical. Everything was as I expected! Now - nothing is perfect and the worth of a company comes through when an issue happens. And invariably issues happen. Within a couple of weeks, I was concerned that my Tesla Powerwalls weren't functioning as I expected. I made a call to Mirasol service. They were able to get data online from my Powerwall and determined that one Powerwall was only operating at 70% efficiency. Their service techs showed up the next day and diagnosed the issue on a call with Tesla support and that afternoon they replaced the defective unit with a brand new Powerwall. Not a rebuilt unit. A new, out of the box one! Issue solved. It's been 6 months since the install date. The system is functioning properly. Mirasol and SunPower can remotely monitor the system (as I can) to ensure that everything is 100%. My house is all electric; I even charge my Tesla vehicle at home and my FPL bill for the last 6 months has been a consistent $27.21/month which is only because on the minimum grid fees that FPL charges. I have not been charged for a single kW of usage. This is a long review because I am not only reviewing Mirasol, but the concept of solar. Solar is a no brainer. Do not get overly concerned about ROI because it doesn't always work. I am in my mid 70's and if I had to rely on an ROI to support my investment, I'd still be driving a gas guzzler. I am just trying to do my bit in a small way to help save the planet for my grandkids. But I also love my $27.21 FPL bill. So get solar and have Mirasol install it. They did what they said they would do. They did it on time and the did it for the price of their quotation. No extras! Can't beat that with a stick!

J.P. , the maintenance coordinator was terrific. Very easy to talk to. Matt, the mechanic did a fabulous job correcting a communication problem. The office staff were also more empowered than before. You can tell that customer support is priority 1.

Love our solar!! It's saving us about $100 a month and supplying about 70% of our power. The sales and installation team did an excellent job to provide us the solar array that worked best for our house.

The team at Mirasol helped us out with some solar panel microinverters. They worked with us to get them replaced and working again in a timely fashion.

Damon takes great care of me. His man, John, not so much. Great company, just needs a little tweek with the "service mangler".
