Blue Raven has been a great company for my solar power needs. They made the process to easy that I couldn’t believe that there wasn’t a whole lot that I needed to do to get my solar power system. They gave me a ton of information for how much power my system would supply. When I agreed to give it a go they took care of everything. They took care of all the permits, coordination to install my system, and city inspection to ensure everything was up to code. My system has been working flawlessly since it got turned on and I started seeing savings immediately. A couple months I had a credit with my electric company and then in August when we constantly ran the air conditioning I got an electric bill for $22. I would have normally spent over $150. This solar system is beyond worth the money and again Blue Raven made it so easy!!

So far everything has been great! We started this process a couple months ago and our panels have already been installed! They’ve been on top of everything. Our installers had an issue and caused a little damage but they walked us through everything and followed up on getting it fixed ASAP, which it was done and fixed within two weeks. Everyone has been really nice and attentive to our needs.

I am new to the solar experience. I decided to go solar through a Blue Raven door to door salesman, which I’m sorry I didn’t check into solar more thoroughly before I bought. Blue Raven as far as I can see is a reputable company with sincere installers. I’m not sure that I feel that way about their sales staff. I am disappointed in the sales pitch and feel I was oversold with the system that I received. I don’t think I was fully informed about the possible options that were available to me but convinced in taking the larger system, which I’ve now discovered, wasn’t necessary. I’m sorry to say that this experience has left me with the same old story of taking advantage of a woman.

Panels are good. Terrible service from the installers and customer service. Installers very disrespectful, they caused some damaged to my house and tried to hide it. I had to call customers service and took them 3 weeks to reply to me with a sound answer. very bad experience!

Hi Evan, I am not happy with our solar production right now. I believe the engineer placed the solar panels in a poor place not very conducive to receive solar energy right in front of the tree that places shade on the solar panels a great part of the day.

We decided to go with blue raven back in April/May . They said it would be a month tops to get everything done and have it up and running. Well, it’s now October and they just barely put our panels on last week. I never received communication about when our inspection would be, so I called today and they had to re-apply for the permit because this process has been too long! So after it hopefully passes, then we can schedule inspection and then use it. It could take another month or so. It would’ve been nice to get solar during the summer. This company has been super frustrating. They have messed up with their communication, they sent wrong materials so we waited even longer, we had a no show from the installers and everyone blamed the other person for everything. It was literally one thing after another. The installation guys were fine, they did their job once they came. But everything else has been a headache. If I was to do this all again, I probably would NOT go with blue raven. I will try to update again when we pass inspection and get everything up and running. They told us we would produce 1% more power than we use, so we will see if they lied or told the truth.

Well first off it took 7 months for them to turn it on, normally it should take 3 or 4 months, and the sales man never mention a connection fee from duke power. All he said was you will only get 1 bill , pretty much a bill swap, he average my utility bill for the year and said that's what you be paying , ok cool well that's a no brainer sure I will do it, well didn't know the connection fee would be almost $20 a month, so right off the bat your going to be paying $20 more a month than if you never got solar, and then they didn't install enough solar panels because they didn't calculate it right, and they say it was the sales man and my fault cause it wasn't calculated right because I didn't tell them I had a programmable thermostat , really how did I know that, they gave us a programmable thermostat when panels was installed and the installers were like ,oh you already have one, well I will leave it with anyway, either I have been getting utility bills around $70 a month. It just been a headache, I talk to one of the head people and they said we can put more panels on to off set the cost but you will have to pay for it, umm no I am not, they pretty much said oh well, so pretty much I have been praying for a sunny month , cause if it been cloudy well your going to pay for it, plus don't add anything to your house like a hot tub, more people living with you, another building with a shed or anything that have to do with electricity, cause if I knew right from the start there was a connection fee I would say no, I was trying to save money now I am losing alot of money, plus talk to someone in my neighborhood who has solar and he said that I got RIPPED off, cause his system cost the same as mine but his is almost twice as big

Chris – We understand that this has been a frustrating experience. To try and remedy the situation our director of operations has been in contact with you and offered adding panels at cost. Regarding the quality of your installed system, since this last April, your system has produced 97% of the expected production. You’re seeing a discrepancy in production vs. power bill in part because of the smart thermostat energy reduction that we had included for your system proposal. This energy reduction was a full half page of detail on your system’s bid. We didn’t realize you already had a smart thermostat and as such, you’re not seeing this reduction in consumption. Additionally, your home has a unique pattern of usage that has resulted in your utility company’s annual credit clearing to be particularly impactful on your accrued energy credits. We have offered discounted panels to help remedy the impact of Duke Energy’s clearing policy, but you have denied the offer. If you would like to add panels, our director of operations has offered again to work with you on a pricing structure that works for your unique circumstances. Regardless, with the ever-increasing price of power from Duke, going solar will save you a considerable amount of money. If you would like to discuss adding additional panels, please let us know. We recognize that your situation is unique and would be happy to help make the short-term savings as beneficial as the long term.

We talked to about 4 different solar companies and were most impressed with blue raven. We liked the way their panels looked sleeker without the lines through then so it looked better on roof and we liked their pricing structure and promotions as there was option for no money upfront, took only 1 day to install and was easy process. Evan was super helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process and he wasn't trying to sell us more panels than we needed. We've had the panels on for a year now and has saved us a ton of money...cut down our power bill right away and now it's barely a bill at all. The tax incentives were the main reason we wanted to do solar and so glad we did. Great experience with both Evan and blue raven, highly recommend!

Whenever I have had a problem or questions, they were right on it and I got to speak to someone in English. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 rating is that I don’t think the sized it properly. I was told it was sized at 102% and I am well short of that.

Just a heads-up if you're looking into solar- AVOID BLUE RAVEN SOLAR!!!! We were looking forward to having solar installed in our new home. Save the environment- save money- you know... We've had our system for less than a year, and it went down in July of this year. When we purchased the system, we were informed that Blue Raven would monitor the system. Yet, they NEVER LET US KNOW IT WAS DOWN- for TWO MONTHS!!! We got over $400 in unexpected electric bills, and we are STILL are having issues with the production of the system. I've called them SIX times this week to speak to a supervisor. I have yet to speak with someone OTHER than a CSR. Their supervisors are either in meetings or never call you back. Sad and pathetic. BE CAREFUL. THEY WON'T MONITOR YOUR SYSTEM!!!! The CSR will say it was an ' unfortunate miscommunication' when in reality it was outright deception, via training of the staff. They essentially leave you on the side of the road after installation. Another thing- When they had us 'okay' the install, they asked if the placement of the panels was alright. We aren't engineers- it looked fine. Over the winter, we had several instances where the snow slides off of the panels onto our front sidewalk & porch. When I asked if there was anything that could be done before it slides ON to someone & hurts them, they said that it would cost us $$$. It's THEIR install issue. When the snow slides off & injures someone, I'm SURE they'll be hearing from my insurance company & their attorneys. We covered our butt when we were told they wouldn't fix the issue, so the insurance company IS aware of the potential for injury & have photos & copies of our contract w/install photos, as well. Folks, there are MANY other companies that install solar. Avoid the headache & go with them.

Hey Linda, I'd love to address some of the complaints you raised in your review. First, I have to ask, what could we possibly gain from your system being down? We have everything to lose, including the money that we gave you for the time your panels were down and free labor and parts used to fix your panels. If your system is down and you notify us, we will put you on the schedule and one of our techs will come and fix it for you as soon as they are available. You bought thousands of dollars of solar panels, and you are the sole owner and proprietor of said panels. In the contract you signed, you agreed that you would operate and maintain your own property. Nowhere in the agreement did we say that we would provide consistent, daily monitoring, but as a courtesy to our customers, we manually check your production at the 6, 12, and 18 month milestones. We also affirmed this in a call with our support in which we asked you if the rep had promised you anything outside of the scope of the installation agreement. You replied that they had not. I'd love also love to know on what evidence you are basing your claims that we "train" our staff to lie to customers. That doesn't sound like very sustainable business practice, and it is certainly not one that Blue Raven participates in. Another thing, we place panels so that they will generate the most power from your home. They were not installed there by accident, and we know what we're doing when it comes to making sure that your panels are as efficient as possible. We're sorry that you feel like you had a negative experience with Blue Raven, and we are willing to work with you to resolve concerns you may have, but it is my job to ensure that BRS is accurately represented online. We've had a great experience so far with Blue Raven Solar. The sales rep and consultant answered all our questions about the different options and weren't pushy. The initial site inspection matched what we had been shown in the proposal - no surprises. The scheduling, permitting, and working with our HOA went smooth and quicker than projected. The panel installation and electrical work was also completed early and the installers (Jason and Derrick) were courteous, respectful, and great to work with. Communication has good - text, phone and email to keep us up to date and informed on next steps. We're now working towards the final steps including inspection and net metering hookup - looking forward to enjoying our new solar system. The Blue Raven Solar team has done an excellent job so far.

We have had Blue Raven Solar since March of 2019 which is 6 months later at the time I'm writing this review. Our utility bill is $0 each month whereas previously it was averaging on an annual basis about $90 a year. On top of that we have a credit that has been building up month over month as we produce much more than we consume. I highly advise using the high efficiency bulbs that Blue Raven provides you as well as the smart home thermostat they give you for free. This will reduce your energy consumption significantly. Also, I would recommend installed a Sense monitor (https://sense.com/) on your home's electrical panel as this will help you to identify where you are wasting energy. Also, don't go out and immediately start changing all your appliances to electric. Change them out as they die off otherwise you are killing your costs savings. We have had a great experience with solar panels. No issues so far. Oh and the app lets you monitor the production on an daily basis (intra-day in fact).

I am frustrated ! I was promised by salesman that the credits from solar panels would be applied to my other building . They put up 28,000$ of panels to cover the electric bill I gave which included both buildings. After it was all put up they told me to call the power company to get the credits applied,the power co. told me that in Idaho they don't do that! The salesman sold it to me falsely, 6 months and they still haven't corrected this situation. I need only half the amount they sold me .

From the first time talking with Blue Raven my wife and I were impressed that the company was not trying to sell us! When we sat down with Martin every minute was spent with not only a completely knowledgeable person buy one who was completely professional. He answered each question until we were satisfied we understood what we asked. The follow up was regular in letting us know where we were at with the process. If I called with a question, I received a call back within 12-24 hours. If the person didn't know the answer they called me back with a clear answer. Installation was done today 9/23/19. They were amazingly quick, but totally thorough. They took the time to answer my questions professionally, with clarity and precision. Their mindset was clear. To make sure we had a professional and complete installation done with the highest standards and they were amazingly precision oriented. It was a pleasure working with Blue Raven and would unquestionably and have recommended this company to friends and neighbors. I rarely in my life have experienced such professionalism, ethics, customer service and installation done as well as Derrick and his partner did today. If when all else is done as well I will give the whole process 5 stars out of 5stars. I am not an easy man to impress, Blue Raven has completely impressed thus far. Scott and his crew were great! Very courteous, friendly, professional crew. The installation looks great! The attention to detail is fantastic. The delays in the install are due to the local utility permits and not the fault of the installers. Once permits were approved, they came in and got it done! Scott went over the system and how to energize it once the inspection is done and passed. His company monitors the panels to be sure they are all functioning as they were designed to do. Top notch system. Top notch company and crew. Nothing negative at all to say about them!

I've been horribly frustrated with the lack of communication with this company. First, they no-showed at the sales appointment (my first warning sign). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and let the guy reschedule when he called me 2 days later. I wound up going with these guys, and the actual physical installation of the panels themselves, went great, as did the paperwork. But then the electrician no-showed 2 times! Later found out it was a "scheduling issue" with the Utah office (I'm in Colorado), and the contract electrician they use was on vacation. Might want to check that next time I take 2 days off work to be home and your guy no-shows. Then it's time for the inspection. So again, I take time off to be there when the BRS inspector comes, and is supposed to meet the city inspector for sign off. The City inspector doesn't confirm the appointment, but they schedule it anyway. The City inspector doesn't come because they NEVER had the Rough-in Inspection done. They told me they worked that out over the phone with the city, but apparently not, because 2 weeks later, I still have no final inspection, no equipment from the power company installed to convert the power to the grid. I've had solar panels on my roof for over a month and not earning a thing from them. Sales rep tells me 11 days ago and I quote "this is extremely frustrating. I'll have my account manager reach out to you ASAP". (I have it in a text from him). That was September 5th at 3:23 pm. Today is September 16th. BRS, come finish this thing in the next 2 days, or I'm going to take all of your stuff off my roof, cancel the deal and you can come pick it up. I feel bad for your panel installers. Those guys were actually great -- on time, professional and did their job quickly and efficiently. The electrician, when he showed up, was good and professional as well. Your internal scheduling team, and communication with your customers sucks something awful. I'm hoping someone from BRS sees this and reaches out, because they're not returning my calls or texts. I should have gone with SunRun.

The material truck and installers arrived in a timely manner and were very pleasant, the material was unloaded quickly, and the installers staid steady at it. There was a hiccup with the original design based on the breaker panel location, but they got on the phone with the design team and figured out an alternate solution quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure i knew the next steps before my system could be put into service. Overall, a very good experience and i would recommend Blue Raven to others.

Still waiting on Blue Raven to contact us!! Do your research before you go for Solar system. I'm sure there is much better and honest company out there. We have solar panels for few year now, and nothing has improved. We are still paying around the same amount ( about $ 300.00) in electric bill. We have been trying to reach out for them, with NO response!! It's frustrating to see the lack of response, communication, transparency this company have! The first contact was wonderful, a lot promises; good "stories" , awesome custom service until you buy it, after that, we found out the hard way that the most of information they gave us wasn't true. The installation was pain full ( they installed on the wrong side of the house and took then another month to fix it). But all this isn't our biggest problem with them . The biggest problem is we have a solar system that doesn't work, and no one to reach out!! I have been waiting, and waiting and waiting and I got nothing!!! Nothing but a expensive solar panels on my roof and a power bill that still cost exactly the same all year long just like before. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed!! We gave them a chance , a lot of chances, now I'm ready to let our lawyers to handle this!!

My experience with Blue Raven Solar has been absolutely fantastic! They contacted me directly via solicitation to our house and I am very happy that I gave them the time of day. Before I was even a customer they had done their due diligence and determined that I was a good candidate for solar. After talking with their rep I scheduled a follow up with their salesperson. Parker was very knowledgeable and professional. He helped us determine that for about $10 more a month than we are paying for our power we could purchase solar panels. After we determined to purchase the solar panels Blue Raven pretty much took care of everything in a very expedient manner. They sent someone over to photograph the roof and developed a design. They submitted for permits quickly and scheduled construction soon after the permits were issued. It took their crew about a day to install the panels and do the electrical work. As an added bonus they gave us a free EcoBee smart thermostat as well as a bunch of LED lights. There was an issue when they installed the thermostat and Blue Raven promptly scheduled a HVAC technician to come over and fix the issue. From the beginning consult to the final install it has been an absolute fabulous experience. This has been one of the best decisions I have made in a very long time.
