The Good

  • Manufactured Inverters
  • Affordability
  • Performance Specifications
  • Hybrid and String Solutions

Manufactured Inverters

FIMER offers one of the most comprehensive listings of inverters on the market. Many manufacturers will solely offer one inverter product or a few variations of that same series. However, FIMER provides a wide range of inverters with varying technologies and strengths. These inverter products include the following:

  • PowerX
  • React 2
  • UNO-DM-6.0-TL-PLUS-Q-US
  • PowerUNO
  • UNO-DM-1.2/2.0/3.0-TL-PLUS-Q
  • UNO-DM-3.3/3.6/4.0/4.6/5.0 TL-PLUS-Q
  • UNO-DM-3.3/3.8/4.6/5.0-TL-PLUS-Q-US
  • UNO-DM-3.3/4.0/4.6/5.0-TL-PLUS-Q
  • UNO-DM-6.0-TL-PLUS-Q
  • TRIO-5.8/7.5/8.5-TL
  • PowerTRIO

Not only does FIMER offer a wide range of options for homeowners when it comes to selecting the ideal inverter, there are also varying system types, sizes, and affordable pricing points. This inventory is not replicated by most manufacturers within the industry.

Affordability

Due to its manufacturing efforts and strategies, FIMER produces high-quality inverters for less, making it more affordable for homeowners to access the company’s products. Most comparable inverters start at well over $1,000, but that is not the case with FIMER.

Homeowners interested in having a solar system installed on their property on a budget will be satisfied to know that quality FIMER inverters start at just $700. This is a more affordable and reasonable price point for many prospective clients.

Performance Specifications

When compared to its competition, FIMER inverters consistently rank on par with other inverters available to residential clients. A number of performance metrics like peak efficiency ratings, size/capacity, and price point are taken into consideration when comparing the quality of inverters. Without fail, FIMER ranks with the top performing inverters or above average.

However, FIMER tends to be more affordable as other inverter manufacturers use performance specifications as a reason to drive up the price. That is not the case with FIMER inverters.

Hybrid and String Solutions

A vast majority of inverters produced today fall into the category of “string” inverters. String inverters are pieces of equipment used in conjunction with solar panels to convert the energy harvested from the sun into usable electricity on the property.

There are also hybrid inverters available for residential use. These types of inverters combine both solar inverter technology and equipment with a battery inverter to make up a single piece of equipment. Hybrid inverters can then manage power from the solar panels, batteries, and the utility grid all at once.

Most solar manufacturers will stick to producing one type of inverter. FIMER, however, has the capability to produce both string and hybrid solutions for homeowners to choose from depending on what is desired.

The Bad

  • Warranty Limitations
  • Availability in the U.S.

Warranty Limitations

There are industry standards when it comes to technology, performance metrics, and efficiency ratings. There are also industry standards when it comes to investment protection in the form of warranties. Within the solar inverter manufacturing industry, warranties generally cover equipment and production for an average of ten years.

For FIMER inverter customers, the equipment warranties are relatively limited especially compared to its competing manufacturers. The basic warranty available through FIMER is five years long, with the option to purchase an additional five years of protection. That is an additional cost the customer will be responsible for covering.

Availability in the U.S.

Despite being a global operation, there is still a main service area that FIMER tends to focus on. Currently, FIMER produced products seem to be most popular in European countries. FIMER does cater its services and solutions to those interested in solar solutions located in these European countries.

It is not uncommon for a manufacturer to cater to a specific customer-based. While FIMER products can be purchased and installed in the United States, they are not nearly as proficient as they are in European countries. United States homeowners will find it easier to access competitor products like SolarEdge or Enphase in comparison to FIMER.

The Bottom Line

FIMER provides a number of different solar products, specializing in the production of solar inverters. While the company produces inverters for a wide range of solar projects, residential customers can take advantage of the sheer number of inverter products available through FIMER.

The company’s production efforts and strategies allow for FIMER inverters to be more affordable than comparable products on the market. The performance specifications on FIMER inverters are on par with some of the highest ranked and quality inverters in the industry. Lastly, FIMER produces both string and hybrid inverters even when most manufacturers strictly focus on its string equipment.

While there are a number of reasons to consider utilizer FIMER inverters in a solar system installation, there are drawbacks to the products prospective clients should be aware of. FIMER offers a relatively limited warranty compared to its competitors. The company also focuses on its European markets, which is why it is less popular in the United States.

Considering the performance specifications, affordability, and sheer number of varying products available through the manufacturer, FIMER inverters provide its clients with a high level of service. Homeowners looking for compatible and flexible inverters should consider the inverters manufactured by FIMER.
