Sleep Number is at the forefront of smart mattress technology and offers an impressive line of its 360 mattresses for couples, individuals, kids, and even options for RV beds. The company also offers a FlexFit base that can be purchased separately and that provides additional comfort and customizability.
Sleep Number currently offers mattresses in the following categories: Classic, Performance, and Innovation.
The Classic series is Sleep Number’s most affordable, with regular prices starting at $999. With a Classic mattress, you can enjoy the following features:
The Performance series is the next most affordable option. Pricing starts at $2,399 (but is often discounted) and you get all the features of the Classic series, plus enhanced pressure relief due to additional comfort layers.
If you’re looking for more, the Innovation series is Sleep Number’s most luxurious model. It includes all the features of Classic and Performance mattresses, plus a temperature balancing sleep surface and breathable, smart fabric.
Sleep Number’s website has a short quiz you can take to help you better determine which of its offerings would best fit your needs. After you take the quiz, you are presented with a great, better, and best option for a mattress based on your answers to the quiz. This is also a convenient way for you to compare prices and other features of Sleep Number’s most applicable mattresses.
Sleep Number offers a lot of its mattresses on sale throughout the year, so you can often find them for a lower price than the original one. There are also deals available as you scroll through the website, such as $50 off a mattress when you sign up for the company’s emails, or other promotions that pop up as you are browsing for mattresses.
All Sleep Number mattresses come with dual adjustability — meaning you and your partner can manually adjust the firmness on your side of the bed to fit your individual sleeping preferences. Some mattresses also come with the ability to raise or lower one side of the bed, which is part of Sleep Number’s PartnerSnore technology and meant to help you stop your partner from snoring by gently adjusting their side of the mattress.
Sleep Number’s SleepIQ technology helps you not only track your sleep and movement during the night, but also track your actions throughout the day to determine how your habits might be affecting your sleep patterns. This can help you know where you can make small changes in your day to achieve more restful sleep.
Sleep Number offers a 100-night trial on its mattresses, which is fairly standard for the industry. Its full warranty lasts 1 year, and after that, its limited warranty is 15 years, which is longer than we’ve typically seen. Under this limited warranty, you may still be responsible for a percentage of the cost associated with repairs or replacement parts.
Most of Sleep Number’s mattresses are air beds, meaning they are more like an air mattress (albeit a more comfortable one) than a memory foam mattress. Sleep Number does offer a couple mattresses with memory foam, but this is not the norm. If you are a big memory foam fan, then Sleep Number might not have the right mattress for you.
Because of Sleep Number’s Dual Adjustment technology, most of its mattresses have two distinct sides that can be adjusted differently, which creates a bit of a divide in the middle of the bed. For couples who prefer to sleep close together, this is not ideal.
