The Good

  • Basic Coverage Features
  • Motorized RV and Towable RV Options
  • Covers Most RV Types

Basic Coverage Features

Geico offers basic coverage similar to its auto policies. This includes the following:

  • Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability
  • Personal Injury Protection and Medical Payments
  • Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage
  • Comprehensive Coverage
  • Collision Coverage

Motorized RV and Towable RV Options

In addition to Geico’s basic coverage, the insurance company offers customizable plans for motorhomes and trailers. RV owners can select a policy with total loss replacement, replacement cost personal effects, vacation liability, emergency expense coverage, a windshield deductible, and RV medical payments coverage. Customers can also purchase Mexico insurance for their RV through Geico.

Covers Most RV Types

Geico covers Class A, Class B, and Class C RVs in addition to travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, folding and truck campers, and toy-haulers. This coverage keeps consumers from wondering whether their RV can be covered by a Geico insurance policy.

The Bad

  • Enhanced Coverage Only Available in 46 States
  • Limited Online Quote Visibility

Enhanced Coverage Only Available in 46 States

For RV owners living in Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina, coverage may not be available. If you are from one of these states, the online quote process will refer you to a phone number to call a customer service representative about your coverage options.

Limited Online Quote Visibility

The online quote process takes you through a conventional questionnaire about driving history, vehicle make and model, and current limitations. However, when consumers complete a quote, they will not have an option to see their policy plan and customize the options digitally. Instead, consumers will receive an email or phone call about their coverage. Many other insurance companies allow RV owners to pick their quote options online and see an estimate of their premium before contacting an agent. For RV owners who want to compare premiums from several RV insurance companies, this could be an inconvenience.

The Bottom Line

Geico has decades of experience serving customers, and this impressive history might appeal to RV owners looking for a trusted brand. However, if you’re looking to take control of your customizable options through digital selection and want to see an estimate before you contact a representative, this might not be the choice for you.
