In a time when the customer can find most anything online, Estately founders thought that looking for a new home should not be any different. Their team strives to provide listings with all the details about the property that a customer could want or need to make a decision. They update their listings every half hour to make sure the customers are getting the most recent, up-to-date information. Once a customer finds the new home they are looking for, they will be able to work with a hand-picked Estately broker to finalize the sale. Their full-service company should be able to help all customers find their new dream home.

One way that the Estately team is working to stay current with the social trends and be at the top of the real estate industry is through their mobile app. Many of their competitors also offer an app to their customers but it is not always a large part of their services. That is not the case with the Estately mobile app, they have given the design of their app a lot of consideration and spent a lot of time making it as simple to use as possible for their customers. Through their app, the customer will be able to access all of the data that they would be able to access from a regular desktop computer and the website. One very helpful feature on the app itself is the tap to save features; it only takes one click for the customer to save home listings they are interested in. When a customer saves one of these listings and then something changes about it (say the price or its status) the customer will get a notification about the change. The real estate market can change quickly, so this feature helps customers to stay on track of the places they want to know more about so they don't waste much time. Another added bonus on the app for customers is that there are more home listings available for them to browse through and they are often updated more often on the mobile app. With such a major life purchase, many customers want and need to know as much about the price as possible. Homes are a huge investment and so customers want to know that they are getting a good deal and not over-paying for their new place to live. Estately does a good job of providing a lot of information about the price so the customers can get a good idea if this is the case or not. They provide a list of similar homes in the area that allow the customer to compare the property they are interested in. In addition to that, they provide as much of the price history as possible. All of this helps the customer understand what they are paying for and to decide on a reasonable price for the home.

The Estately team is working to become one of the top real estate searching companies with the quality of their property listings. But they are limiting the number of customers that can take advantage of their services because they only offer listings in certain states. These states include:

While there are many areas where the Estately team offers property listings, it is still a limited list. If a customer needs to move to an area that is not covered by Estately listings, they would not be able to use Estately services. Another way the Estately team is limiting its reach is that their mobile app is only available for Apple users. Many of their competitors offer apps for their services on both Apple and Android platforms, so this can be a major downside for those customers who are not part of the Apple services. But customers who do not have an Apple product can still utilize their website on either a desktop or a laptop. They will just not have access to all of the extra features available through the app.

The Bottom Line

The mobile app provided by the Estately team is a great asset to their customers. It streamlines the searching process and allows customers to quickly get updates on their saved listings, which allows customers to keep up on key changes. But the mobile app is not available on all platforms of devices, which obviously limits which customers can take advantage of its services. Their listings are complete with a lot of information a customer could need to make their decision as informed as possible.

I used to find the Estately website easy to use. Real estate listings in my community were visible at a glance on one page and included no superfluous information - just the facts (what is for sale and the number of daily listings indicated clearly at the top - perfect). Now, suddenly, a neighborhood map (that I don't need) occupies most of the space, and thumbnails on the right are so small they are practically useless for quickly scanning the listings. Too much visual clutter to navigate easily. Bad idea - no justice to the seller and especially difficult for visually impaired users.

Well no surprise low score with BBB. Poor customer service. They use invalid information just for the sake of advertising. Does not care about customer relationship and puts off resolution on other companies. Passing the buck! Fails to follow up on concerns because they have no intention on resolving ! STAY AWAY! Doomed for FAILURE.
