The Good

  • Plethora of features
  • Filtering options
  • Frequently updated listings

Plethora of Features Realtor.com makes finding property details incredibly easy. On a listing's page, you can find everything from the property's history, surrounding schools and neighborhoods, to nearby restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, and more. A mortgage calculator is included on nearly every listing as well. According to our research, Realtor.com is one of the better Real Estate Search sites we've found that provides this amount of information. Filtering Options Realtor.com has an extensive array of filtering options when buying a home. This includes not just the basics of the price range, bedrooms and bathrooms, but includes a tall list of amenities. These amenities include a two-car garage, fireplace, pool, hardwood floors, water view, tennis courts, single or multi-story, and many others. This could be extremely useful for individuals looking for homes with specific perks. Frequently Updated Listings The website touts that roughly 80% of listings are updated every 15 minutes. Most listings will even display a posting history so customers know how long they've been posted. This is excellent to know so the customer can be aware that they're always getting up-to-date information.

The Bad

  • Can't directly contact seller
  • Can't directly sell your home
  • Lack of info for some properties
Can't Directly Contact Seller On Realtor.com, everything is done through the real estate agents. No information is provided on how to reach the home's owner, but Realtor.com makes it incredibly easy to contact the home's real estate agent. Can't Directly Sell Your Home If you haven't figured it out by now, everything on Realtor.com is done through-you guessed it-realtors. If you want to sell or rent out your property, the website requires you to go through a licensed realtor. Lack of Info for Some Properties On some but not all, Realtor.com doesn't feature photos of properties. This is definitely not ideal for a real estate website in that every home buyer wants to know what the property looks like before they have to show up to take a look. Some information is also not featured on properties such as sex offenders or crime rates in the area.

The Bottom Line

Realtor.com is a powerful Real Estate Search site that gives plentiful information on listings across the United States. Consumers would do well to give the website a look, especially if they're looking for specific amenities on each property. The only downside is that everything must be done through a professional realtor, including listing and buying/renting property. Overall, Realtor.com is a great experience.

This website doesn't allow me to see nearly as much information on their site about homes as other MLS listing websites/apps. I have used this app to look at houses outside of my state and across the United States but I have preferred other sites to this one. It is still good and I haven't had any issues with it loading but I wish it had more information.

The website is OK, has the same listings as other sites but other sites aren't bombarded by ads and they don't require an email to do a cursory look.

Couldn't find any matches on places to rent in the area I was looking for. The website is nice, but a little hard find what you are looking for, when you use the filters you get nothing of what you are looking for.

Realtor.com is a good site to find homes for sale. I'm currently looking to purchase, so I enjoy the filters available to narrow down the search and all the availabilities that show.

A bunch of very interesting options. If you sign up with a bunch of them though, then they will assume you already have property even if you're just looking for a rental and will start asking after about a year if you want to sell your property.

I purchased my property back in 2017, I reached out to all major online sellers to take the interior pictures of my property down for security purposes. I received a call from a friend stating she knew the layout of my property and gave me details of the house. This was odd because she has never been to my house. She told me that she saw most of the pictures through Realtor.com. I reached out with proof that I was the homeowner and they did not want to take the pictures down. It was an extremely frustrating moment.

no sugarcoating

good company to find realtors and see listings. my home value feature is similar to zillow estimate and is not a reliable value that can replace an appraisal. The site is a good resource though for market research, matching a lender best, knowing current/average interest rates. I found some interesting tips on how to stage a house. In my experience, the way to find a good realtor is word of mouth, but if you have to rely on a site, look for most active realtor with most closings. good luck!

I researched a property on Realtor.com only to find that the information was not exactly correct. Who did have the correct info was Zillow. Although I did not pursue this sale, it left me questioning the accuracy of these listing on the various Real Estate websites.

It’s really just okay. There isn’t anything horribly bad or good about it. I don’t use it because I typically use Zillow or Trulia because I find they have easier access to the information I’m seeking and it’s already at my fingertips in the form of an aesthetically pleasing app.

I have not been as pleased with Realtor.com as I have been with other real estate apps. They often fail to keep their information up to date. Their descriptions often contain too little information and when I listed a home to sell, they really messed up the pictures. I rarely use them anymore. I truly hope they will improve in the future.

Realtor is another great resource like Zillow and Trulia, but does often have out of date data (homes have already sold, are slightly different geo, etc.). The user interface is ok, but seems more mid-2010s. As a free MLS data aggregator it’s a good addt’l option.

Realtor.com is super helpful. I used it when searching for my first house. It was easy to find homes in the area I wanted, but some of the listings were inaccurate, I called one of the listings and the listing price was almost $10,000 more!!!

Very uneven. We've requested a realtor and waited days, and then at other times been contacted within seconds. The realtor who finally helped us out came from realtor.com. Worth a try!
