Moneyspire

I'm giving Moneyspire a high rating based on how it works for me. I lost my old Quickbooks software in a PC meltdown. Now everything is very expensive, subscription based and bloated with too many features that make entering a simple transaction not intuitive. Moneyspire is very affordable considering the alternatives and simple. Importing from 2 banks was easy. I more or less needs a glorified checkbook and Dome book combination. Track expenses and do a couple basic reports for tax time. So based on that, it might not be for everybody but then again a$180 a year approach is way too much for my basic use.

I have used Moneyspire for one full year. Although Moneyspire does offer a cloud service, I actually was happy with having both my software and my data stay with my home computer. I have used both Microsoft Money and Quicken in past years and was displeased with customer service and functionality. Moneyspire has served me well for bookkeeping and tracking my income and expenditures. I have NOT used Moneyspire to track or handle investments. I appreciate Moneyspire's friendly and knowledgeable tech support and responsiveness to my needs. The development team continues to improve the software and I am very pleased with the reasonable cost to the client. In a field that seems to have relatively few available options, Moneyspire has offered a great product at a fair price. Kudos to them. I, for one, am very appreciative of their work and their service to the public.

Purchased along with backup disc. Happily spent 5 hours setting up accounts and entering data. Purchased this bc I did not want 3rd party access to my data so did not link to cloud. 2 days later I go to open and login and it takes me to ‘welcome’ page and asks me if I want to purchase. End up getting to a different prompt that ask if I want to download and allow program to make changes to my computer. Long to short…I spent way too much time trying to find my entered data. I finally find through a very indirect route. I make sure I save. Next time I can’t even get to login page. All I get even after downloading fresh is link to ‘download’. No phone customer support, only lengthy and inefficient emails. After 2 days and back and forth for just a few exchanged emails w 2 different people they stopped responding. Absolute waste of money and horrible waste of my time. Do not buy simply because the customer service is non-existent. I’m so exhausted dealing with them that I’m not even going to pursue a refund. Nice moneymaker for them. Big mistake for me.

Up until about two weeks ago, I would have given Moneyspire 5 stars. Unfortunately, the program abruptly quit generating reports (needed for a meeting that evening), and their tech support is apparently non-existent. No phone number is provided; and two emails (the first one sent 2 weeks ago) have remained un-responded to. One star - and that's being generous. Update: With no help from Moneyspire technical support (they still have not responded to my two emails and phone call to their business office), i figured out the problem with generating reports. It turned out I was checking a box I should have left unchecked. The thing is - if someone had contacted me when I first had the problem and worked with me over the phone, I'm sure it could have been resolved much earlier. With that said, I'll increase the "value for your money" from one star to three - since the program does an adequate job keeping financial records. Just understand that it's a relatively inexpensive program, and product support is not available.

Excellent package does everything I require for Personal Finances and excellent email help, very prompt, accurate and helpful. VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER for many years. Thanks

Tech support, in my experience, is non-existent. I spent a huge amount of time setting it up and learning the software. Finding many missing transactions on the very erratic auto-download.

Complete piece of garbage. The sync service does not work at all. I ave tried for days to use with large, well known banks and investment companies and nothing has synched since the initial configuration.
