7-Day Free Membership Period

All new members get to use Lavalife free for seven days. This allows people who are unsure if they’re ready to pay for the full membership to try out the Lavalife platform and basic features.

Similar to a profile, the voice greeting is a personal introduction for others who call the Lavalife number. 

The phone dating service also offers a live chat room called the Lava Lounge. You can start chatting with other Lavalife members who are currently on the phone. Members can browse voice profiles and respond to messages. Male members can get a 30-minute free phone dating trial while ladies get unlimited access to flirt and talk for free. 

Lavalife provides free text alerts to notify users when they have a new message. Lavalife’s phone dating service is a unique way to find and connect with other singles.

Online Speed Dating

During the COVID pandemic, Lavalife has been hosting virtual speed dating nights. The online dating site posts about these events on its Facebook and Twitter accounts. Joining Lavalife for the seven-day trial period is free. After the trial period is over, Lavalife users will be notified that they will need to purchase a monthly subscription membership to continue using Lavalife services. In order to experience the full potential of the Lavalife app with unlimited messaging, singles will need to purchase one of the site' available packages:

All subscription memberships will be charged by credit card for renewal 24 hours prior to the end of the user’s current 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month period. 

Non-Refundable Subscriptions  

Subscriptions can be canceled at any time prior to the end of any 30-day period, 90-day period, or 180-day period. Members will simply select their reason for cancellation and hit the submit button. The cancellation will be effective as of the next billing date (as long as notice is given 24 hours prior to the end of the 30-, 90- or 180-day period). However, members should be aware that the purchase of a monthly subscription is non-refundable. This is a typical policy for online dating sites. 

Limited Safety Features

Lava Life has an email verification system that adds a layer of protection. However, members aren't required to pass a background check, and the company doesn't promise to remove a profile once it gets reported. Instead, Lava Life states that they assume no responsibility for verifying the accuracy of profiles.

On Lavalife’s FAQ section, the company states that there are no fake profiles on Lavalife.com. However, since the verification process is limited, this can come across as fallacious. 

Membership Outside the United States

A significant portion of Lavalife’s membership resides in Canada. Limited U.S. members may cause an issue for those trying to connect with local singles in the United States. U.S. residents should look into other online dating options to increase their chances of finding love.
