Liberty University was founded in 1971 and is the largest Christian university in the world. It is also the largest nonprofit university in the United States. This school is located on 7,000 acres of land in Lynchburg, Virginia. There are more than 160 different programs that can be completed online for people wishing to earn a degree from home. All degree levels are offered including: Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral and certificate programs. There are also many different areas of study to choose from including: Aeronautics, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Paralegal and many more. There is also a Seminary program and many specialized courses which are centered around the Christian faith.

Liberty University is a well-established school with an impressive accreditations and professional recognition. Many of the programs offered are accredited by specialized agencies, which means that degrees earned through Liberty will be accepted by other accredited institutions. Liberty University also offers the option to receive credit for prior learning. Liberty University also does not appear to place a high emphasis on job placement after graduation which can make it difficult to pay back student loans once schooling is completed.
