Students may complete their coursework on campus, completely online, or they may combine both options. With over 90 programs to choose from, WilmU has specialized education for almost anyone to take advantage of. The Bad

  • Limited Online Offering
  • Program Limitations
  • Potentially High Tuition

Limited Online Offering

While Wilmington University does provide a complete online option for their students, their main priority is still their on-campus learning. They have made a valiant effort to provide options to as many students as possible by opening multiple campuses and offering flexible scheduling. That being said, there are still programs available on-campus that are not made available to online students.

Program Limitations

Other concerns prospective students should be aware of include:
  • No online associate's programs
  • Fast-paced classes
  • Cost for tuition

Potentially High Tuition

Another aspect of the online programs prospective students should be aware of is the price per credit hour. It costs $346 per credit hour, which may not seem like much, but it adds up quickly. A majority of the courses are three credit hour classes. A student taking a full-time amount of classwork (12 credit hours) will need to pay over $4,000 each semester. Credit requirements also vary, so it is important for prospective students to look at program requirements prior to enrolling in order to find out how much that degree will cost.

The Bottom Line

Wilmington University has created an online platform that allows students to earn their degree on their own time. They offer degrees completely online while also providing students with the option to attend classes at any of their campuses. The cost per credit hour, while reasonable, will add up for some programs that require 180 credit to graduate. For those interested in enrolling in an online program with Wilmington University, they will need to complete the following to be considered for admission:
  1. Submit application online along with $35 fee
  2. Submit high school or college transcripts
  3. Complete a math and English skills assessment
  4. Track application status
  5. Meet with an advisor
