The Bad

  • Low Graduation Rate
  • High Default Rate

Low Graduation Rate

While Strayer has found a way to help graduates gain fulfilling employment upon graduation, actually getting students to graduation day seems to be an area where the institution needs to improve. Roughly only 58 percent of students who enroll in Strayer's programs actually graduate. This can be due to a number of reasons which include, but are not limited to:
  • Students transferring to other universities
  • Inability to pay tuition costs
  • Current work schedules interfering with schooling

High Default Rate

Also, there are some concern with Strayer graduates being able to pay back their loans. In 2010, The US Department of Education reported that Strayer's federal aid repayment rate was only 25%. This indicates to us that Strayer graduates incur significant debt.
