Everglades University began to come into being after Arthur and Belinda Keiser purchased American Flyers College in 1998. One year later, the college was renamed Everglades College. This first renaming of the institution coincided with its relocation to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The college offered its first Master's Degrees in 2003, and changed its name to Everglades University. As of 2010, Everglades University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The university operates as a non profit entity and awards bachelor and master degrees. Several degree programs are available as 100 percent online as options for those looking for convenience in their schooling.
