Up until a couple of days ago I had cd accounts with CIT since 2014 . Until recently they have been great. However I just had a CD come do and tried to contact the bank for updating it. Tried to do it online but my login and password no longer worked. Tried to get this fixed but had difficulty contacting someone. Finally got somebody and they promptly hung up on me. Following that I spent three hours trying to get somebody on the phone to finish my transaction. No luck. I withdrew my money. They have no concern for their established customers.

Absolutely impossible to get customer service on the telephone, necessary since I seem to be locked out of my online account. Plus their interest rates are very unclear. They have initiated a new savings account that pays a competitive rate but they are screwing existing customers. Have tried for 3 days to get customer service on the phone to no avail. Three hour waits, they say, but leave your number and we will call you. They haven't done so despite attempts for 3 days.

Locked out of my account online access and the app with misleading options to reset password, unlock account none working as expected. The emails are not coming to my registered address while no multi-factor authentication codes are recognized even when correctly entered. This is a disaster for a bank that is only accessible online!!! I am exiting this bank after being a customer for many years.

Went to sign up for the 0.90% advertised saving account, and got declined, no reason given, after they took all my personal information. Since I have an excellent credit (800+) and wanted to deposit a bunch of money, I wonder why this bank would not honor their ad. Not a huge loss I guess upon further review of the bank's own rating and its affiliates (OneWest Bank, First Citizens Bank...).

This bank used to be fine as a savings account. They merged or were bought by another bank. Now I cannot even log on. After waiting for 35 minutes to speak to customer service, I was assisted to change the password, (rep told me the problem is not with me). The new password won't work! Beyond frustrated.

Not user friendly! Have had to call for help wait times ridiculous and when they say they will call you back they never do and no info on site of how to close account they lock you out even though you use correct password if they send you a pass code you can copy and paste and it still won't take . Oh and I've been hung on times I did get through so no no not at all a friendly bank!

I had over $250K in my savings account. It became more and more difficult to get online. Citbank kept changing the method of logging on. When I called I had to wait 25 minutes for a human and then was disconnected. I have tried again and told 15 minute wait. I want to close my Account and transfer it elsewhere. Citbank is not User Friendly. Stay clear.

HOA payment site does not work. No one actually will answer the phone when you call to get help. Customer service is nonexistent. Neither my subdivision accounting management firm nor I could get the bank to fix my account during the past month, over 30 days now, so that I can make my HOA payment. I don’t know what I can do to simply pay my bill !!!

My CD matured on 7/8. I called to have the money transferred to my checking account and was told I had to send an email requesting closure which I did. 2 days later I called as the money was not transferred. I was told that I had to submit a "closure form" and provide a routing and account number which they already had! 7/12 and I am still waiting for the transfer of funds. This delay caused me to miss out on another attractive CD rate. CIT is great until you want to access your OWN money!!!

Do not use this bank, the website and online services are beyond horrendous and any skilled user will find themselves immediately agitated and horrified. I'm pulling all of my money out ASAP and I suggest anyone else do the same and/or NEVER open an account here. I would rather take the .01 percent lower APR with a Bank that this competent then have my money with CIT. RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN..I can't stress that enough.

I had CDs with this bank. When they rolled over, CIT Bank never gave the best rate. For example, I had a Bump CD paying 1.25%. (it never bumped during the 1 year term even though interests rates were rising). CIT Bank renewed it at 1.25%! When I said this wasn't sufficient, the Bank upped the rate to 2.50%. I declined saying I did not want to do business with the Bank. I asked my funds be sent by external transfer. The Bank said I had to go through several steps to get my money so it can hold my funds and pay no interest. Stay away from CIT Bank.

Recieved a letter from CIT, said they lost my e-mail address, and I should call them . I spent 56 minutes with a representative, who gtold me she could not figure out how to get me online to view my balance, and could not tell me if I had a balance!. She told me to call back 2 hours later, which I did and spent another 18 minutes on hold before finnaly reaching someone who said they will send me a statement! I'll be surprised if I get it! BANK LOCAL

Customer service does not exist. Neither phone or Email. I can not get payoff amount for weeks, and even months. No one reply's to emails or phone calls. Simply avoid at any cost, one of the worst bank experience I ever had.

Then I discovered that the actual rate was less than 1% , it turns out that they have different kinds of savings accounts, The agent I spoke to was a smarmy, disingenuous creep. I have had several accounts at CIT Bank, but today, I tried calling, currently I've been on hold over 3 HOURS! This is totally unacceptable! Don't put your money at CIT unless you want no customer service and want your money held hostage. If I can make a complaint to the banking department about this, I will!

The on line savings bonus, (Feb, 2021) of $300 for a deposit of new money of $50,000 was interesting so I jumped thru the hoops they asked for and wire transferred the funds only then was I told that the bonus offer was withdrawn. Just hope I can transfer funds to another bank that puts the people making the deposits - first.

Run away from this bank when you see this review. It will save your time and money. Don't deal with IT. The core value of this cit.com bank is taking full advantage of you from the contract. They work with other lock of integrity/ monkey business and get other good people's money.

I wish I could give this "Bank" zero stars. The process is horrific, and the hold times are beyond abnormal. It has been 7 days and they still have not released my funds nor do they have any record of the promotional bonus they promised to pay. I will bank local after this and gladly take a slightly lower return.

Is there a zero star rating? They respond to on line customer service request via your account with an automated message to call customer service- every time no matter what the request. Worse customer service on lie - they could care less. Not sue how this bank keeps any customers.

Takes forever to transfer funds out of your CD. Amazing how quickly they could transfer money in, but to transfer it out SO SLOW. Delayed the closing on the house because of the delays.

I spent 3 hours trying to operant account with Cit Bank today. Almost all of this time was on hold trying to get answers to mistakes THEY made online. Just gave up and told them to cancel the account , if one really existed.

They pay the highest interest rates that I've found online. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that they hold deposits for 5 biz days, although interest does accrue during that time. This acct is linked with my local bank, and transfers are easy online. Great online bank
