The Saga of an Only Child Who Became a Professional, Unpaid Mover:
My parents have been married for over 50 years. Dad is a Vietnam vet, mom retired nurse. Both with various ailments.
They bought a beautiful house in my neighborhood, and my children and I were going to watch over them.
They moved in.
They moved out two weeks later.
We quickly realized the move was not going to work. Long story short- I’ve been packing and unpacking and moving furniture for about two months. Dad let me hire the movers this time around because he couldn’t even fathom going through another move so quickly.
I found the most AMAZING company. Due to dad being a veteran, I researched companies that employee veterans. Lo and behold. Such a company exists. Veterans Moving America. I explained the situation to CW and the move was scheduled for just 5 days out.
The guys (Zach, Daniel, Chris, Myron) showed up on time, packed up the things I just couldn’t reasonably pack anymore. They were respectful of our situation and kind and compassionate to my parents. They listened to my mom tell them 15 times about her crock pots. At the new (old) house, they put literally every single thing back into place. Boxes in the right rooms, furniture in the right places. Beds built. And an hour and a half faster than expected. 🤯🤯
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH!!!!!! They were phenomenal. Not one piece broken or scratched. Walls intact. Just freaking amazing.
(This is not a paid advertisement. Maybe a cautionary tale to make more than one baby, though.)

VMA is the best moving company I’ve ever used. They really do a good job of protecting items so they aren’t damaged during the moving process. Kind of cool they are all veterans too. Recommend them all the time and always get positive feedback from people I know who use them.
