Our friends recommended them to us and they were so right. This team was amazing. They got all our furniture wrapped and ready to move in no time. I was pleased that besides the young men, there were young woman to help, too. They were kind and friendly and definitely hard working. I liked that boxes were labeled with what was in them and which room they came out of, so then easy for them to put in the right rooms in the new house. My daughter had purchased a beautiful bed. I have every intention of helping her move it until I actually saw it. It was a 4 poster sold wood bed that had to go up stairs, with a matching dresser. I called Garrett S. and explained the situation. He had movers show up and disassemble, wrap each piece, and hauled it upstairs of her condo, and reassemble the bed. It literally took about 2 hours because they wrapped everything to make sure it was protected. I couldn't be happier, I saved my back, my sanity and probably the furniture. I needed a bed and a recliner moved from my dads nursing home to my storage unit. I called several moving companies and even tried to find independent movers. I was agast at the quotes of $500-$750! I called Meathead Movers and was so relieved to find a company willing to work with me regarding cost! They not only met me in the middle on cost but gave me a discount when I agreed to be on a all day appointment. The young man who arrived not only called to let me know they were coming 30 minutes before they arrived but they also were super nice on the phone. (Something that's not easy to find these days!) They were so pleasant to work with while I ran back and forth to open the Memory Care door for them as they carried the 2 heavy pieces to the truck. (Good manners are not always found these days either!) The young men were so nice. I'm 66yrs young and I was so very happy with their politeness. They waited for me while I ran and got the keys to my unit and then helped me make the two awkward piese fit in my unit. I couldn't have been happier with my experience. I didn't go home and collapse. I actually smiled and stopped for a coffee since the normal stress of the day ended up being so NON stressful! Thank you Meathead, you have a faithful customer now! I used Meathead Movers on September 12 and 13, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and so easy to work with. Two movers handled my move, and they did an amazing job wrapping and protecting all of my furniture and breakable items. They packed the truck carefully so nothing shifted, and when it came time to unload at my new home, they arrived right on time. They unpacked everything quickly, set up my furniture for me, and made the entire process stress-free. Both movers were not only professional but also very friendly and had a great sense of humor, which made the move a much more enjoyable experience. The cost was also very reasonable—lower than other quotes I received—and unlike some companies, Meathead Movers didn’t change their prices at the last minute. Think twice and get every cost in writing before your belongings leave your home. I encouraged my mother to hire Meathead Movers for her move from Atascadero, CA to Kuna, ID because I trusted their reputation. Unfortunately, our experience raised serious concerns about the estimating process, pricing transparency, storage arrangements, and communication. From the beginning, we repeatedly questioned the estimate that two trucks were necessary and said we believed everything would fit into one. We were told two were required. Ultimately, everything fit into ONE truck. The original written quote was $10,103.85, labeled “Move With Storage,” with Atascadero as the pickup and Kuna as the destination. What was not clear to us was the full financial structure that followed. My mother was then charged approximately $3,708.68 to move her belongings from Atascadero to storage in Santa Maria. That was not the monthly storage fee. Meathead Movers later quoted another $9,174.29 to move the belongings from Santa Maria to Idaho, while storage was an additional $479.94 per month. We also did not fully understand the nature of the warehouse/vault storage arrangement beforehand. For a senior going through a major interstate move, these details should have been extremely clear before her belongings left her home. We eventually decided not to have Meathead Movers complete the interstate move. Instead, we hired an Idaho company to retrieve everything from Santa Maria. The difference in communication was remarkable. After one phone conversation, the Idaho company gave us a clear written breakdown covering pickup in Santa Maria, interstate transportation, unloading into its warehouse, climate-controlled storage at $270/month, and eventual delivery to my mother's new home. Their total estimate, including three months of storage and final delivery, was $7,165–$7,660, with a written guarantee that the total would not exceed $7,660 unless additional months of storage were needed. My biggest complaint isn't simply the price. It's that I believe the costs and storage arrangements should have been this clear before Meathead Movers took possession of my mother's belongings. My mother is a senior, and based on our experience, I would strongly encourage other seniors and their families to have someone carefully review every document and insist that every stage of the move, every storage charge, the storage location and arrangement, and the total anticipated cost be provided clearly in writing before signing anything or handing over your belongings. Our experience taught us an expensive lesson: ask questions, get multiple quotes, and get every cost in writing.
