BuckHead Movers
Author: Kaitlyn Short
Buckhead Movers handles residential and commercial relocations as one of the Atlanta movers that keeps every packer and driver on its own payroll. The site says the same full-time team that packs and loads an interstate shipment also drives it and unpacks it, because the company does not hand cross-country work to out-of-state subcontractors.
Before move day, a moving coordinator acts as the single point of contact, surveys what needs to be packed, and flags special requirements such as custom crating or storage. That survey becomes a detailed estimate sized to the labor, materials, and trucks the job needs, and crews lay Masonite protection over floors, walls, and doors while they work.

The Good
- Company Crews From Pickup to Delivery
- Customs Know-How for Overseas Moves
- Servers, Racks, and Workstations
- Pianos, Pool Tables, and Fine Art
- A 100,000-Square-Foot Warehouse
Company Crews From Pickup to Delivery
Packers and movers are described as full-time, non-smoking employees rather than day labor or subcontractors. The site says it is licensed by both state and federal departments of transportation to carry household goods across state lines and international borders.
Customs Know-How for Overseas Moves
International coordinators handle customs paperwork and country-specific shipping rules, and they manage handoffs between land, sea, and air freight carriers. Custom wooden crating is available for valuables that need more protection than a carton can give over a long trip.
Servers, Racks, and Workstations
Commercial pages cover office furniture, cubicle breakdown and setup, IT relocation, and data center moves, including servers, switches, racking, and cabling. Industrial machinery and warehouse relocations with shelving and palletized inventory are also on the service list.
Pianos, Pool Tables, and Fine Art
Specialty crews move grand pianos, pool tables, antiques, and artwork, using air-ride trucks with lift gates and climate control. A separate installation service lays rugs, places furniture, and hangs mirrors and art for homeowners and interior designers.
A 100,000-Square-Foot Warehouse
Short- and long-term storage sits in a clean, dry, climate-controlled warehouse that only authorized staff can enter. Belongings are inventoried on arrival, and customers can either have the crew pack for storage or drop off boxes they packed themselves.
The Bad
- No Company Story or Leadership Page
- Storage Means the Warehouse, Not Containers
No Company Story or Leadership Page
Apart from its start in 1985, the site says little about who owns or runs Buckhead Movers. The main menu has no about page or team profiles, so homeowners who want to know the people behind the business will have to ask the coordinator directly.
Storage Means the Warehouse, Not Containers
Every storage option described on the site happens inside the company warehouse. The pages reviewed don’t mention a portable container you can load at your own pace in the driveway, so a self-paced, on-site option would come from somewhere else.
The Bottom Line
Buckhead Movers is set up for Atlanta-area households and businesses that want one employed crew to handle the whole move, especially when it involves a piano, a server room, crated antiques, or a shipment leaving the country. The company’s own warehouse can cover the gap when a closing date and a move-in date don’t line up.
Before you book, use the quote request on the company website to set up a coordinator survey. Ask the coordinator to list in writing any crating, storage, or customs steps your move needs, so that every one of them is part of the estimate.
