Leesa is a direct to consumer mattress company selling bed-in-a-box mattresses made in the United States. It was founded by David Wolfe and Jamie Diamonstein in 2015 and is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Does Leesa ship free to Alaska and Hawaii?
YES! It does. This is a great benefit for residents of these two states, where free shipping isn’t always a given. Many other mattress companies that offer free shipping have a caveat for Alaska and Hawaii. This policy beats out several competitors which charge for shipping to these states, including Casper, Nectar, and GhostBed.
There is one thing that customers in Alaska and Hawaii should know: You still benefit from the 100-day free trial, but there is a $100 fee for returns.
Each Leesa mattress comes with a risk-free, 100-night trial.
Users should try it for at least 30 nights to allow the body to adjust to sleeping on a new mattress. If you aren’t satisfied, then you can return it for the full purchase price.
What does this mean for you?
It is risk-free. Shopping for a mattress online can leave you feeling uneasy. If you haven’t even tested it out in a store, it can feel like a huge gamble. This 100-night trial period offers peace of mind to people who are uncertain about the purchase. You can still return it. The company will even pick it up for you, from your home.
Residents of Alaska and Hawaii residents should remember that it is not a fully risk-free trial for you. There is a $100 fee for returns, but this beats most other mattress companies, including GhostBed, which has all sales final for Alaska and Hawaii.
Shipping and returns are free, but customers also have the option to upgrade with in-home, white glove delivery service for $100. Mattress removal is also available for $50.
This service includes a 4-hour delivery window and a 2-person delivery team to delivery your mattress, set it up for you, and remove any packaging.
What does this mean for you?
If you can’t bring a mattress up a flight of stairs, maneuver it independently, or don’t have anyone who can assist, you can leave it to the professionals.
As with many other direct-to-consumer mattress companies, Leesa customers can finance with Affirm at 0-30 percent APR. Affirm offers a monthly payment system, and lets customers know about payments amounts with different options for term lengths.
For every 10 mattresses the company sells, it donates one to charity.
In 2018, Leesa donated 32,000 mattresses to charity, participated in 2,133 volunteer hours, planted 255,000 trees, and was involved with multiple charity projects.
In addition, Leesa tries to help the environment. It uses recycled packaging, runs its headquarters on renewable energy, and works to decrease emissions.
Leesa mattresses come with a 10-year full replacement warranty. This is pretty standard in the mattress industry. Even BestCompany’s highest rated brand, Tempur-Pedic only offers a 10-year warranty, and its mattresses can range between $2,000 to $7,500 in queen size.
This 10-year warranty is by no means letting customers down; however, there are some competitors which offer warranties of 15, 20, and 25 years, up to lifetime or “forever” warranties. These generally offer a limited full-replacement period, then a subsequent period where the mattress can be serviced or repaired.
This is one area where Leesa has room for improvement.
With Leesa, customer service is available via phone and live chat from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern. While we applaud any company that offers service and support via multiple channels, we do wonder how people on the West Coast feel about service ending at 6 p.m.
On the up-side, their support is seven days a week, so people should have the opportunity to call or chat-in if assistance is needed.
With Leesa, customers only get two options. People who need a firmer or extra soft mattress to sleep on or for medical reasons may not find either comfortable.
However, most other shoppers, whether they are a back, front, or side sleeper, will be satisfied with Leesa mattresses.
Leesa has a lot to offer. The socially conscious company offers the option of a foam or hybrid mattress, free shipping to all fifty states, and a 100-day sleep guarantee to give customers peace of mind.
