Bemco Mattress is an Illinois-based mattress manufacturer owned by SBI Mattress, which also owns the Chattam & Wells and Spring Air brands. Bemco was well-known in the 1990s as the official mattress of the U.S. gymnastics team.

The company offers innerspring, hybrid, and memory foam mattresses as well as a special Posture Collection. They are designed to go as a sleep set, with an eco-wood base of their patented design, in place of a box spring for your bed.

Read on for pros and cons, plus Bemco mattress reviews from real customers.

Top Ranked Companies

The Good

  • Variety
  • Handmade
  • Warranty

With Bemco, you get 28 models and a variety of mattress styles, so you can get one that best fits your body, comfort level, and sleep style.

The company offers nine flippable hybrid innerspring-foam mattresses, six gel memory foam mattresses, four Talay latex, high-density foam mattress options, and nine models in the Posture collection.

Bemco sells quality mattresses handmade in the United States at a factory in Illinois.

The company’s current mattresses come with a ten-year manufacturer’s warranty. This is pretty average in the industry. On Bemco’s website, previous models had warranties lasting between 1 and 35 years.

The Bad

  • Cost
  • Purchase Options

Bemco doesn't list pricing on its website, and neither do any of its retailers. These mattresses, which are handmade in America, are not inexpensive. Each retailer asks that you contact them directly for a quote.

Purchase Options

These mattresses are not available for direct sale from Bemco, so you will have to find a local retailer to purchase a mattress; however, the website only shows retailers in Missouri and Illinois. Because the mattresses are special-ordered, we were unable to find a way to buy one online. There is no way to avoid a "sales" experience.

The Bottom Line

Bemco sells several different types of mattresses, all handmade in Illinois at the company’s mattress factory. It also offers flippable and pillow-top options with innerspring, foam, and hybrid construction.

As these are made to order, you must request a quote from a local retailer in Missouri and Illinois to see specific information on pricing and wait times.

I love their mattress. I have back problems and I have a good night sleep every night. I miss my bed when I am away and have to sleep an uncomfortable mattress. Five star always.

I've always slept on a Bemco and would never change to another branch, because it really is the worlds greatest sleeping pill. I get a wonderful nights sleep, every night.
