Allswell is making a name for itself by aiming to combine luxury and affordability with its bedding, particularly marketing toward women who want a sleek design and comfortable sleep. The company was founded in early 2018 by Arlyn Davich and is owned by Walmart. It provides customers with hybrid mattresses, mattress toppers, blankets, and other bedding items for a value price.
Allswell offers three hybrid coil and foam mattress models: The Allswell, the Luxe, and the Supreme. All three are available in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King. All three mattresses have a medium firm feel and work with any type of bed frame, box spring, or platform bed.
The Allswell is a 10-inch hybrid mattress with CertiPUR-US memory foam and two gauges of individually wrapped pocketed coils for motion separation. While a typical memory foam mattress tends to absorb heat, the Allswell is topped with CoolFlow foam, a special memory foam infused with graphite and copper gel to draw heat away from your body while you sleep. Underneath this layer of gel memory foam is a polyfoam layer, followed by a coiled center with high-gauge and low-gauge springs that allow for user pressure relief.
The Luxe mattress is firmer than the Allswell and a couple of inches taller, making it 12 inches total. It has a similar structure to the Allswell, with individually wrapped coils and gel-infused memory foam, but the Luxe mattress features a built-in topper covered with a quilted mattress cover made of a fabric designed to be cool to the touch.
The 14-inch Supreme mattress includes the brand's core construction of pocketed coils and gel memory foam. It adds a soft, plush Euro-top contouring layer, Reinforced Quantum Edge support on all four sides, and an Energex™ temperature-regulating 2-inch foam layer.
Allswell offers free ground shipping to the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is only $50.
Allswell’s mattresses are priced much lower than many other competitors in the direct-to-consumer mattress industry. The company allows financing with as low as 0 percent APR for orders over $250.
The Allswell ranges from $245 for a Twin to $420 for a California King. Many other competing mattress brands like the Casper, Tuft &Needle, and Nectar mattress, don't even offer a hybrid model with at a pricepoint less than $500. Their more affordable mattresses don't have innerspring support. A Luxe Hybrid ranges from $345 for Twin size to $845 for a California King size. The Supreme ranges from $725 for a Twin to $1,145 for a California King. The Supreme (Q $945) is comparable in construction to the Casper Wave Hybrid (Q $2,495) and the Saatva mattress (Q $1,099), but costs less.
For shoppers that want the convenience of ordering a mattress online from a specialty company, but prefer sleeping on a mattress that has innerspring support, rather than the entry-level bed-in-a-box foam mattresses, this is a good fit.
Allswell will replace or deliver a pro-rated refund for mattresses that have faulty materials or defects. Allswell will replace the defective piece or part if the warranty covers their limitations.
The warranty limits customers to one return per household, per year.
Customers can expect a 100-night risk-free trial with a mattress purchase from Allswell. If a customer is unsatisfied with their mattress, they can return the product through Allswell’s step-by-step return instructions for free haul away pick-up. The company recommends sleeping on your new mattress for about three weeks' adjustment time. If you still feel that you need a softer or firmer mattress, you can initiate a return online to get your pickup scheduled and your refund started.
Additional fees such as delivery upgrades and mattress recycling fees are non-refundable. The trial is limited to one return per household, per year.
Allswell delivery agents will unload and move the mattress for you with the White Glove delivery option for an additional $99, including mattress removal. Once the mattress reaches the local delivery team, you will get to choose a day. The day before your delivery, the company will contact you with a two-hour delivery window.
This option is helpful for customers who would be unable to move or unpack the mattress themselves.
Allswell has no showrooms for mattress trial. Consumers will have to complete their transaction through Allswell’s website. For customers who don’t want to wait for shipping or for customers who want to try out mattress options without delivery and return procedures, this could be an inconvenience.
All three Allswell mattress models are the same firmness level: medium firm. Most people prefer a medium firm mattress. It offers the right amount of support and pressure point relief for most side, back, and stomach sleepers to get a good night's sleep.
However, not everyone will be comfortable sleeping on a medium-firm mattress. If you need to sleep on a soft mattress, or a firmer mattress to get a full night's sleep, this might not be a great option for you. But, you can take comfort in the risk-free trial from this online mattress retailer.
Allswell was introduced in 2018, meaning that might not have as much experience as other mattress providers. This could also be perceived as a benefit, because Allswell is a new competitor who is trying to innovate within the industry.
Allswell offers competitive services that outdo many other mattress companies. If you’re looking for a hybrid foam and innerspring mattress with impressive specs and a low price point, Allswell is an excellent choice.
If you’re a customer seeking an in-person testing and buying experience without worrying about shipping, a company with a brick-and-mortar store may be the better choice. But with Allswell's free return shipping included with the 100-day trial, you can't really go wrong with trying it out.
