Huntington National Bank is among the oldest lenders in the Midwestern United States, having been founded a year after the Civil War ended in 1866. Headquartered in Richmond Heights, Ohio, Huntington is a strong company that has more than $73 billion in assets. The company offers lending in mortgages, automobiles and personal loans as well as solutions in investments, insurance, banking and financial planning. Customers love the vast product and service offerings the company has. However, customers have consistently expressed displeasure with the response time to inquiries.
Whether you are looking for a personal loan, an auto loan, a mortgage loan or a home equity loan, Huntington has you covered. Not only this, but the company can lend for all types of home loans, including FHA, VA and Real-Estate Owned loans. If you need a loan, specifically a home loan, you have a seemingly endless list to choose from. We love the fact that customers can come to Huntington by using its online services and get all their borrowing and banking done in one visit. Customers don't need to go to multiple lenders or banks to find the services they're looking for. We also like the stability and strong management the bank boasts.
When you work with a company that has been around for a century and a half, you know you're dealing with professionals who know the lending and banking business inside and out. The collective experience of the Huntington team surpasses most lenders you'll find anywhere. Whatever your needs are, you can be sure Huntington knows how to handle them.
Huntington has repayment options no matter what your situation is. Depending on your individual needs, Huntington will set you up with a rate and repayment term that will work best for you. Customers speak highly of the many lending options Huntington has and that different rates and terms are available for mortgage, auto and personal loans.
Perhaps being so large and well-established works against the company in this area. Clearly the company doesn't place enough emphasis on customer service. Response time is slow, and many customers report being treated rudely, unprofessionally and with disrespect. Others say they are harassed when payments are late. We're frankly shocked by the large number of negative comments and ratings from customers. In addition, the company does a poor job of following through on its promises.
It's not uncommon for customers to check balances and find the wrong amounts or not find the amounts at all. In other cases, Huntington has been known to quote wrong rates, incorrectly assess fess and make other oversights.
While Huntington is often slow to respond to customers, the company seems quick to penalize for late payments and even shut down accounts prematurely, even when customers are only a few days late with payments.
Huntington Bank is one of the most experienced and respected banks in the Midwestern U.S. But you shouldn't do business with the bank simply because of how long it has been around. Based largely on customer dissatisfaction and poor customer service, we wouldn't recommend using Huntington for your lending needs. There are other options you should pursue first.
We're on a mission to empower consumers to make the best decisions and connect confidently with companies that deserve their business.
