MasterCard's identity protection services are free for existing Mastercard cardholders. Additionally, as mentioned above, the company's services are also available to small business owners who reside in the United States. 

Identity Protection Services

The identity theft package offered by MasterCard includes lost wallet replacement, in-depth identity theft and fraud resolution services, and identity theft alerts notifying customers of threats to their credit and debit cards, social security numbers, driver's licenses, and other personal information.

Users can get credit monitoring alerts via email or SMS and can view all alerts through their online dashboard. 

Generali Global Assistance-Powered Service

According to the company's website, GGA began offering identity theft protection services in 2003 and is currently one of the largest "private-label" identity theft protection service providers in the United States. 

Pre-Existing Conditions Resolution 

Unlike several identity theft protection services, the Mastercard ID Theft Protection service includes pre-existing condition resolution. This means that users who have experienced any identity theft incidents before activating the Mastercard ID Theft Protection service will be able to receive help from the company's resolution specialists in resolving any issues relating to the previous theft(s)that occurred.

MasterCard's identity protection service does have a few holes. The company does not appear to offer  identity theft insurance; or criminal and tax identity recovery services. 

Single-Bureau Monitoring 

It appears that cardholders who choose to activate the company's identity theft protection service will only be able to obtain single-bureau (TransUnion) credit monitoring services. Although TransUnion is a major credit bureau, many other identity theft protection companies offer multiple credit bureau monitoring services.
