I would definitely not recommend signing up with this company. At first they seem legit, but then when you try and cancel they make it very difficult. The customer rep said that she had cancelled my membership (I called on the within the free trial period), but the next day my credit card was charged. I called the next day and they said they would issue me a refund, but it was only for the initial fee of $1.00. When I realized that they did not refund the full amount (they offered me a 50% discount), I called back furious and they told me to calm down. I told them not to tell me to calm down because they lied to me and I've received nothing but poor customer service. I am waiting to see if I receive the promised refund, but in the meantime AVOID THIS COMPANY! They are manipulative, dishonest and misrepresent their intentions. Please check out the other reviews - 102 people rated them a zero!

Beware of this...! I signed up for a 7 day trial by paying $1 after that they kept charging my credit card for $40 every month without any notification. I happened to check my credit card transactions to find this out. If they are straight forward, they should have sent a notification that they are going to charge for this service a few days in advance like many other companies do. When I discovered this, I cancelled my membership by calling them but they refused to refund my two months payment for which they never provided any service. It looks to me that they wanted to make most of the innocent customers as soon as possible and run away from business by the time complaints pile up. Its funny that you rely on these people who are behind money to protect your credit from fraud... Credit Karma is much better for free...!

Firstly, I inadvertently forgot to cancel within the trial period, and they charged my account $39.95 for 6 months before I realized they were doing this.Secondly, when I checked my account, they appear under a different name, and it wasn't till the sixth month that they finally showed their real name "ScoreSense" on my card statement that I was able to figure out who they were. Thirdly, when I contacted their Customer Service, they did refund the last month but not the previous 5 months because according to them I had not cancelled beforehand. In end, while this may sound fair from their business point of view, I was very unhappy with this outcome at my end.AWFUL PEOPLE!!! ... my bad, I should have further researched Credit Karma before requesting my supposed "free" credit rating.

ScoreSense is awful. Though the interface is decent, at best, the customer service call center and customer care for billing are both awful. I asked to cancel and was on the call for 20 minutes where the rep continued to offer me multiple options to keep the account open, including 50% off employee discount to bring the monthly cost to $19.95. They were RELENTLESS! ScoreSense did not approve my request to cancel, even tho my 7th day ended on Christmas Eve. The call center rep submitted my refund requests and also cancelled my membership completely. The refund decisions came after my account had been cancelled, of course, which means paying near $40 for a service that I couldn't even utilize. They are a horrible company, and like many others I will be reaching out to the FTC if they don't reach out first.

This is a deceptive company. I signed up for the free review and ended up being charged $39.95 a month for the past 5 months before I caught it and called in. The customer service rep finally acknowledged that I wanted to cancel after at least 6 or 7 attempts to get me to accept a discounted month or various other offers and rationale for keeping the service. She finally cancelled but promised nothing in way of refund. She said it was up to billing department. Meanwhile I've received a letter from the Federal Trade Commission about ScoreSense asking me to fill out and request a refund. They are a dishonest company. I wouldn't use them if they were free.

First it is difficult to cancel. The customer service rep will not accept a cancellation without offering different levels of service. NO, NO, NO, NO. She did not understand No. Finally she accepted my cancellation. A month later there was another charge of $39.95 on my credit card bill. They refuse to refund it because they say my membership was cancelled one day after they billed my credit card company. So, what did I get for the one month of service that I was charged for two billing periods. Nothing! There was no monthly report to me! This company is a ripoff and I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

I, too, wish I would've read these reviews before trying the "free" trial. I called the very next day to cancel my membership. The lady told me I had signed up back in August, just 3 months prior to this trial, which was not true. She supposedly cancelled my membership during this call. 2 weeks later, I see a charge on my account of $39.95! I called again and talked to a guy who told me there was nothing on their system that I called and cancelled. How convenient. I was able to give him the exact time I called, what day, the # I called and how long the call was. He told me he would send my refund request to the appropriate department. Lo and behold, I got a refund...of $1.00! What a scam! I'll be watching my account to be sure they don't charge me again. Live and learn. I can't believe any government agency hasn't investigated them! These people suck. Btw, I don't think they're based in the U.S. They all had accents, possibly India. Buyer Beware!!!

, foolishly, responced to a "Free Credit Check" icon on the internnet. Bingo! I became a sucker to be milked for "Monthly Service" charges. This sleeze operation accessed my records and billed my credit card company for a "Monthly Service Charge" When I called them I was connected to a "Rick" who was in a boiler room full of other "Customer Service Operators". I cancelled my "Membership" and must, now, monitor my credit card activities on a daily basis. Factually, I now have to close all my credit card accounts and get new ones -- hopefully preventing further incursions into my privacy......................

Very horrible customer service! I called and was put on hold for 5 minutes while i heard the guy talk about his day. When he finally picked up the phone i asked if he could cancel my membership and that i was upset he left me on the line for 5 minutes and he hung up on me immediately after. I called again and spoke to a veronica and when i asked nicely if i could talk to a supervisor she laughed and hung up, I figured the first guy was talking to her. So finally I called again and spoke to a nice guy Justin and he took care of my issue and connected me to Laura the supervisor who said she would take care of the indecent.

DON'T LET THEM SUCK YOU IN! They may be super nice to you if you want to keep their service but they are PUSHY, RUDE and down right OBNOXIOUS if you don't want to continue with their services. I got the whole sales pitch including "half price for the first month". I really wasn't interested and got pulled in to the offer without realizing it was a monthly service. I said several times to the rep that she would not be able to change my mind and that I just wanted to cancel and she just got louder and talked over me. I was forced to listen until she was done. - "you are making a mistake", "we protect you like no one else can", "the credit reporting agencies think we are the best service, that's why they refer you from their websites when you visit them (that's how I got trapped)", "the FTC approves of us and not others (I doubt this)", "you can't do what we can do for you on your own", "we are your lawyers when you need it (totally not true!)" and "what's $40 a month?" Well folks, I'm here to tell you that you CAN watch your credit like a hawk for FREE! Credit Karma provides monthly email notifications and updates, current credit scores from two of the credit agencies, credit simulators, track spending learn about credit management other financial tools and its FREE. You can get your credit report online from all three reporting agencies once a year for FREE! You can file a dispute with all three reporting agencies online for FREE! If you are looking for "Identity Insurance", well, that's not free, but you can find some really good coverage out there for substantially less than $40 a month. I've seen a couple of triple A rated insurance offerings for as little as $14 a month. Check with your employer too. Many companies provide a low cost option of this type of protection. Anyway, even if I were in the market for something like ScoreSense, the hard line 1950's used car salesman tactic COMPLETELY DISSUADED ME and left a nasty taste.

I'm so mad at me! I'm smarter than this! I tried for several days to call to cancel my membership. I was put on hold and no one ever came to the phone, EVER! But what a coincidence, the day they charged me they answered right away! AFTER they charged me not the price of the membership of $39.00 but $45.00. They denied the incorrect charge and blamed my bank. When I called the call center rep passed me on to his supervisor, the call floor supervisor. I swear they both sounded exactly the same! I would bet money that they were! AND they told me there was no one else i could talk to above him. AND I was told the billing dept didn't take incoming calls of any kind>? But guess what? I bet I do find someone above the floor supervisor! way above! They just don't know who they are trying to rip off this time!

In 2013 while on Active Duty and deployed in the military, I needed to obtain proof of my credit report. I paid $1 and printed it out. I was not aware that there was fine print stating something along the lines of, "if you don't read this and/or call back within 7 days, we will charge you $29.95 forever." I used a credit card that had a low balance. Fast forward 2 years later, I paid off that credit card. A few weeks later, I looked to see if there was any interest that accrued. There was a charge of $29.95 from Scoresense.com. This sparked my interest as I didn't even know who they were at this point. Come to find out I had been charged $389.35 over the last 2 years. I'm absolutely disgusted with the lack of integrity, punctuality and professionalism from Scoresense. After placing approximately 30 phone calls over a month to Scoresense, I received 6 refunds so far with 7 still remaining. I have finally reached what seems to be a dead-end road. Corporate finally returned my call 2 weeks later from the date promised to me saying that I have received what the operator had seen as the most refunds as a "courtesy." I am supposed to be receiving another call from their legal department. Anything anyone says from Scoresense does not have a tad bit of validity to it. I'm furious with this company and would highly recommend not using this company, especially for fraud protection! They are taking money from Veterans who put their lives on the line for this country. I want my 7 remaining refunds now! Also, they cannot update my email address or residency because they want a new credit card. Are you kidding me? If someone from this company reads my complaint, please contact me or post on here. In the mean time, I will get my attorney involved, my bank, the Veteran's Affairs, and I will voice my opinion of your company on every single consumer report I can get my hands on.

I called to cancel the trial the day after I signed up. Spoke with a guy that after several attempts to sell me another level of service told me that he canceled it and I would NOT be billed. So of course I assumed it was canceled. 2 weeks later while looking over my account, What Do You Know I WAS BILLED the full amount of 39.99. So of course I called them AGAIN, this time I spoke to a woman and she did get it canceled for however told me I would recieve a refund. Then later received an email telling my refund request was DENIED, after I was already told I would recieve a full refund! They started Billing me "deceptively" when I first turned 23, saying it was free but needed to sign up using my credit card. A few months later I noticed they were charging me $30 per month and called and got it cancelled, they reimbursed some of it. Now, 5 years later, looking at my billing statement I see they are still billing me. I do not use this card often and have it on auto pay so I, didn't often check what it was used for. When I called, they said they had no notes in my file saying I wanted to cancel. And unless I could prove it I would be stuck with the $30 a month for 5 years ($1,800). They reimbursed one month ($30). Even though, I not once ever accessed the account. I wish I had been smart enough to write down the cancelation number when I was 23. Do not trust this company, they have terrible practices.

First off, you should never work with a company that requires you to call to cancel a membership. They are basically relying on the fact that you will forget or won't bother to go through the hassle as part of their business plan. Further, canceling my membership through ScoreSense was almost impossible even over the phone. The person basically threatened that I would get my identity stolen instantly. I spent a solid 5 minutes saying only "please cancel my membership" over and over to them in response to everything they said. Still it took 30m over the phone to complete the transaction... What kind of company has this sort of business model?

Called customer service to find out why I couldn't activate a feature that was suppose to be free. The first person said I had to pay a one time fee of $19.99, I said why does it cost money when it plainly says it is FREE. Could not get a straight answer from their tech support, could hardly understand them. Called back today to cancel their service, took me almost a half hour to accomplish something that should have taken 10 minutes. I asked for a confirmation # and that took another 5 minutes, while they continued to throw sales pitch after sales pitch. I finally had to be very blunt in order to finish the process. I also informed him about the $22 million lawsuit in Ohio that they owe their customers there for over charging.

Communicated with me in no way since 2013 and still withdrew $4.95 from my account every month. If they were monitoring my account, there is no evidence of it. Even if there were no alerts, they should have sent a message every couple of months indicating they were on the job. I consider this a rip-off and the company to be less than honorable. I would never recommend them to another person to be taken advantage of. They should be making restitution to me instead of hiding behind some lame trumped-up excuse that "You requested the refund after your communicated billing date". What on earth does that mean anyway??I am not foolish enough to assume they will do the right thing and refund unearned payments, but they need to know that they are not conducting business in an ethical manner and should revise their business practices. 5/7/15 I got sucked into trying them as part of a free offer for something else and I didn't realize that they charged $29.95 recurring on a monthly basis. I thought it was a one time charge of $29.95 until I got my bank statement the day of the 2nd charge to my bank account. I tried calling them to cancel the payment but they were closed for the day. The next day I called to cancel and the customer service rep I spoke with cancelled my account and I asked her if she would refund my payment since it was only one day past the due date and she said she would forward my request to whoever it is that decides if they will issue a refund and that I would get their "decision" soon. Sure enough the next day I got their decision which was that they denied my request for the refund even though it was only one day after the due date. I'll never do business with them again and I hope word gets out that they are penny wise and dollar foolish not to mention angering customers during a still lousy economy. Sincerely, Edward Warnock

Not happy with Scoresense. Way over priced for what is offered and now that I try to cancel, I call in and on hold for 13:27 seconds before "Jeff" picks up. Jeff asks me my name. I tell him. I also tell him that I have on hold for over 13 minutes and not interested in his selling techniques to keep me,and he asks a security question and "apparently" hangs up. Now, I have to go through the entire process again. They should make cancelling easier or offer better services for the money!

ScoreSense is a joke. THEY WILL TAKE YOU FOR ALL THEY CAN... I tried their service to do check on my credit score, after forgetting to cancel within the 7 days I was billed $29.95 (my bad) once I realized, I contacted them to cancel...After talking to the rep who offered me all these great options (as she put it) I made the mistake of taking their complementary free month for trying them even though I was going to cancel. I could get a free month. I assumed that after the month was done I would be done with them and I would not have to pay anything. I was wrong. After the free month was done I was charged again $29.95. As soon as I found out I called to find out why, and was told I was suppose to cancel before the free month was up. That was not explained to me when I accepted the offer. Now I called today to get a refund and was denied because I did not cancel before I was billed. I did not even know I was going to be billed... Do not make the same mistake as I did... DO NOT USE THEM THEY WILL TAKE FOR ALL THEY CAN...

I was not impressed with the service provided, especially for $29.95 per month. I contacted them initially on December 11 to cancel service. Amazingly enough, they were having a special, and could offer me the same service for less than half the cost. Declined. I called them back December 29 because I saw where they were attempting to deduct again. Made them send me written confirmation as my bank was proving useless in protecting me against this withdrawal. They initially refused to refund any of the $29.95 x 2 (my husband and myself fell for their song and dance). I did mention my bank was uselss, right?? Today they say that they will refund $1.00. Completely unacceptable.

We have been paying for score sense for a number of months now to monitor my credit. My scores showed as very low "D" level credit every month they have pulled. Then my wife and I went to buy a car and they pulled my credit along with hers at the dealership - how surprised was I to find that my score is actually over 100 points higher than what score sense shows. When I called to cancel, they lied over and over again saying that depending on who pulls the score it can be different. Um, no, equifax, experian and transunion will have the same score no matter what system you use to pull your credit. Very disappointed - seems like a scam.

I just called to cancel. They charged $30 on a Credit Card I never put on any website. They are not a SCAM. They are legit, but if you do not cancel after the 7 day free trial, they do start to charge automatically (like every website does) amazon prime does the same thing after 30 day free trial. So no they are not a scam, but it is difficult to cancel, the first lady reduced my membership to $5. I called again and the man gave me 3 different stories about identity theft before i could finally cancel.

PLEASE DO NOT STOP fighting for your money back!!!!! They stole 7 months of my money out of a credit card I use quite often. I didn't notice, bad on my part, because I called and cancelled the service the same day I signed up. I called 7 months later after I finally found the charge. I was told there is no record of me cancelling. Well, the person I spoke to told me he would refund 2 months, (he refunded 1 month), I was then told the rest of the refund would be investigated. I rec'd an email saying they approved only 1 month + the $1.00 fee. The rest was denied. I politely thanked them and then informed them I would be taking them, all of those I spoke to small claims. I reported them to BBB and told them my next step is the Texas Attorney General and any other legal steps available to me. Next morning, I am getting a refund of all but one month. Wrong, I will be going after every penny they stole from me. DO NOT STOP FIGHTING!!!!

I checked my credit score online through this service. I never noticed the 7 day trial bit. I was willing to accept the $30 loss as my fault for not cancling my account. When I called to cancle I had to ask three times before they would cancle my account. I was polite and very clear (I simply want to cancle my account so no more money comes out of my bank account) The lady kept asking why I wanted to cancle and why I never looked at my report from them, tried to make me feel stupid for closing my account. These internet credit fix schemes are the last peole you need to be paying if you have credit problems. Just find out who you owe money to and call them to work it out these middle men will do nothing for you, you do not need them.

BEWARE! Signed up for a $1 membership to get a quick credit report for a rental application and didn't realize the fine print. 6 days later they sent me a follow-up email with an "alert", which was surprising to me because I didn't even know I still had the account open. Turns out they hit me with a $30 charge and refused to reimburse me even though I immediately cancelled the account. It's funny how the "alert" conveniently came through right after I received the apparently non-refundable "membership" charge. Shady companies like this should be done away with. The best part of it all is that the customer service rep actually tried to SELL ME OTHER SERVICES while I was on the phone clearly upset about what happened. On top of that she was rude when I requested a refund for the misleading membership sign-up. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this company to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Their on site ad fails to make it clear one is signing up for a monthly service. Web site banner offers "free" credit check but then ask for credit card info for a "1 dollar refundable fee"(?). They take this credit info and then start automatically charging $29.95 monthly because the unsuspecting person failed to cancel at the end of some 7-day trial period. Definitely trickery; possibly fraud.

one star because no negative stars. Turns out Score Sense hacks your emails, and also hacked the FCU sign in, so it appeared as if the FCU was telling you about a potential breach and you should get your credit reports. I contacted the FCU, no such thing. This was a hack, spoof and is against Federal Law. Not only should you NEVER deal with them, but you need to watch out for what appears to be a legitimate breach notice from your banking institution. If you get a pop up referring you to ScoreSense, please forward it to the FBI.

their ad came up uninvited every time I accessed a financial institution, eg: my credit union. ad leads you to believe somehow your institution is validating or suggesting signing up for FREE credit score. Not clear that charges will be incurred after free trial. they would not reimburse my checking acct when I realized that I had signed up for something that I was led to believe was free. I believe the $1 I paid was not for anything to do with credit scores. I just found out they have been charging me 39.99 for months without my agreement. I have been given a partial refund due to being very strong and proactive, and filed a dispute for the charges not refunded with Chase. If you look online at different blogs you will find many complaints, all with the same bad experience. I am going to post my experience on FB, Instagram, Twitter and the BBB They are an aggressive scam and should be put out of business.

Scoresense is a scam. I was checking out a person online to see if I could get some background information on the person. I looked into been verified and some other companies that charged a feen scoresense was listed along with those companies. I registered and paid the $1 fee which was a one time fee not ongoing. The charged me $39.99 a month beginning in November to January before I realized this fee was charged to my account and asked for a refund and cancellation. They refused to refund all my money.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! It hurt to give them 1 star! My complaint is like so many others - I didn't realize I was signing up for a monthly service (which I do not need). I caught it after one month and cancelled, but was not able to get my 39.95 refunded. There are many truly FREE ways to ck your credit scores. Do some research and beware.....How does a company like this stay in business???

Apparently, the creator of ScoreSense Christine enjoys talking to men that are engaged and offering her services in a flirting manner. I found out that my fiancé was using her services and she overstepped her boundaries. I guess Scoresense mixes business and plessure. Honestly, women and men who talk to men who are married and engaged are not trust worthy and cannot be taken serious. It did not shock me upon looking up the company that it already had such bad reviews. There are plenty of creditable companies that can fix your credit score and not have this poor of a score.

Very disreputable business practices. I saw the monthly charge show up on my credit card. I don't know how they got my info - I NEVER sign up for these kinds of things because it's typically too hard to cancel. When I called to cancel, they couldn't find my account, then told me to MAIL or FAX a letter with my info and complaint - sadly ironic for a company with .com in their name. I filed a dispute with my credit card company -to fight this for me.

Scores did not match what Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax had reported. When I complained, they said there are "hundreds of different algorithms that determine scores, and this is what your score came up to using our algorithm." We cancelled our subscription immediately, but they took money again the following month. If you choose this service, I suggest you monitor your bank account.

I cancelled on the same day I ordered by a charge came through on my credit card just recently on July . I called again over the phone and the lady said she would submit it to the department to consider. I received an email that said they would not refund. There business practice is not good and I would suggest not using this company but rather subscribing to one of the credit bureau's who can office you the same for half the price

I have enrolled in 3 different online companies to run my credit and this one was the only one that was completely off. My scores are 650 and up and somehow my trans-union score was literally 78 points off. In the 500 are you kidding me?I will be cancelling my account immediately due to accuracy. Do not waste your money on this site you wont get accurate scores.

I don't even remember subscribing to Score Sense; I think it was part of the process of getting my credit score through Credit Karma. I contacted Score Sense after seeing a withdrawal from my bank account to request a refund and to terminate my membership. I just received a notice that the refund was denied. Of course I consider this to be theft and Score Sense to be unethical.
