After many years of faulty appliances, I finally invested in a warranty plan to cover my appliances and feel comfort knowing that there is help available 24/7 if I experience any issues. I recommend American Residential Warranty for a peace of mind at an affordable price. Their customer service team has been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable when I have contacted them with questions regarding my plan. I have not needed to file any claims yet (thankfully) but I do have coverage for my fridge, dishwasher, oven, washer/dryer bundle.

Untrustworthy! I called to make my first claim on the effective date of coverage, July 3, and was told, "oh no" your coverage starts the DAY after the date we provided in the contract!! Also, since you called about this issue today, if you call again tomorrow, it will be considered pre-existing, and therefore denied. ARW refused to provide a written denial of the claim. They also refused to refund payment for the first two months of premiums. Yup, that's right, they had already charged for a second month of premiums, while telling me that my claim was denied because I was still within the first 30 day exclusion period. I asked for a written confirmation of my cancellation of the policy and especially that my card would NOT be charged in the future, and was told ARW doesn't provide written confirmation of cancellation of policy. Stay away!

American Residential Warranty is an absolute scam. They have taken my monthly payments every month, but when I needed to use their services for an HVAC unit that went out they refuse to cover the unit. I complained and had the issue reopen and was told I would have a response in 24 to 48 hours, but never heard back. After a week and a half I call to cancel my coverage and was given a complete run-around. Every time I called there was a 60 minute wait. I stayed on the line on two occasions for more than an hour and no one picked up. On two separate occasions I ask for a call back and both times they rang my phone for 1 ring and hung up, which I lost my place in the queue. I can only reach a live person if I'm looking to add coverage. This is freaking ridiculous. My mother-in-law who also had ARW was also denied on an HVAC unit claim. After fighting with them for months and several service calls they agreed to give her an allocated amount, which they deducted the fees the technicians charged them on the service call. The amount given was less than 10% of the total cost of the HVAC unit. ABSOLUTLY REDICULOUS!!! I would strongly advise no one use this company, it is an absolute ripoff!

Currently in the middle of trying to get my furnace replaced with American Residential Warranty. We had a contractor come out a month ago through American Residential Warranty to check out our furnace since it will blow heat into the house constantly no matter what temp it is. He said that our furnace is too old (1992) to get any parts and that it needs to be replaced. There has been a lot of correspondence back and forth between claims and the contractor, but nothing has happened since the contractor visited back on July 31st. My wife and I are trying to get this fixed before the end of summer, as we want a warm house for our 10 month old son.

I am very dissatisfied with the most recent service or shall i say "lack of service" from American Residential Warranty. I have had my warranty plan for with this company for a number of years and have not had to use them until recently. My most recent claim was for my hot water heater that went out on Sunday, I called Monday morning to set up a claim and schedule a technician. The person asked me for the serial number of the water heater. I said i did not have it. She then told me she had to process a procedure for a claim without serial number that would take "two days". I said what if i call back later with the number, and she said that I could do it but it would still likely take two days. That same evening I called back and gave the serial number, and the technician looked in the system and did not see a claim was filed, so he set up a new claim and i paid the technician fee. On Tuesday I did not hear from them, on Wednesday I called and spoke to a supervisor, she said she would escalate my claim and I was told that the company has a "new contract with them" to manage their calls and claims and their company has different procedures therefore the 48 hr is now a standard for things like water heaters, etc. Things like airconditioners etc they try to do same day. I did not call on Thursday, nor did i receive a call from them. I called back on Friday late afternoon, and let them know I did not receive a call, and she tried to explain, that I called Monday after hours eastern time so that day did not count, so i said what about Tuesday and Wednesday, did they count? She then checked my claim and said they could not find a technician - so If i wanted to find one, pay out of pocket they would reimburse me in 1-3 business days...now by now you know that they have 48 hr business days or something because their time and mine is not in sync... but i agreed. I asked about how much they would reimburse for parts and labor and she said American Residential is a "repair" company - not a repair/replacement company. I said I have never heard of a warranty company that was a repair only company!!! Anyway - the story is not over yet, we bought our water heater and it is being installed today Saturday. Lets see how they handle the claim!!!

I have been with the company for a year and I used my warranty once so far. Reporting the claim was easy, they responded quickly with a technician coming out to make the repair. He was knowledgeable and made the repairs right away.

The representative answer all questions asked and was very courteous. The scheduled appointment date was in 2 days. The only problem I had was I requested 8-12 and the servicemen had appointment for 12-5. However everything was corrected prior to his arrival.

My washing machine broke and I called American warranty. repair cost over $600. American warranty decide to do a buy-out for 465 and not a repair. I found washing machine close to that price, but I went for 699.00, machine oh, so I'm happy
