The Bad

  • No free shipping
  • Product and service issues
IKEA does not have the option of free shipping. Depending on where the customer lives and what they ordered will determine the total shipping cost, but "free" is not an option. IKEA has had some complaints concerning delivery and collection issues in the past, such as not receiving products by their delivery date or not receiving products entirely. Other issues individuals have shown concern for include problems with the product or service they purchased. These vary depending on the item and are consistent with other major home furniture companies. Similar to delivery issues, problems are handled by their quality customer service department.

They have a large product selection and are focused on providing their customers with the best value, design, and sustainability.   This company is expanding every year and has thousands of employees working hard to create new ideas for your furniture needs as well as improving the transportation and delivery process of its customer's products.   IKEA is continually offering deals and promotions to buyers allowing their products to become even more affordable for the everyday home.

Order a couch from them and didn't get the right pieces. They sent us the wrong pieces to connect the couch. Customer service was sending us all around the loop to different area. Kept telling us that we called the wrong area or got transferred to the wrong area. So we kept calling the number they gave us to get the same thing about calling the wrong support. After 4 long hours of going around we finally got transferred to the correct support. Even after the help. It turned out that they didn't even have it in stock but one person said they did. Now we have to take all the piece back ourselves or they will send someone to pick it up but for a return charge. The closes place will be 5 hours away so we are stuck with the pick up return. Not going to order any furniture from them again.

Currently in the middle of a kitchen cabinet install. We have assembled these products before and we’re not intimidated by the donor yourself factor BUT... Note- you can NOT use the online design program via Apple/Mac. You will have to go into a store location to have an associate help you. They were very helpful but not 100% accurate and we came across details that were missed causing further trips back to the store to get correct components. Zero ability to call and speak to someone for assistance once purchased. Literally couldn’t get through to customer service at all after numerous tries at different times of the day. Worst automated customer service support I’ve ever experienced. Basically non existent. Would recommend getting quotes for second party to assemble if you can afford.

Although IKEAs furniture is at a low price point, their furniture has never held up well for me. Also, it is always overwhelming to try and assemble a piece of furniture from IKEA. The store itself is also very overwhelming. It is not my favorite store.

I love IKEA, but as someone who is disabled, I had to stop going once IKEA stopped offering electric carts and switched to manual carts. Now I’m forced to shop with my friends amd family who often do not have the strength to push me because of my weight. So I sit in the car like a forgotten piece of moldy bread. I used to spend lots of money at IKEA but now that I see how little they value people who are disabled I will take my business elsewhere.

They may have some descent furniture and home accessories at lower prices but I absolutely HATE shopping at their store. They weave you around the entire warehouse and make you walk the whole place even if you just want to grab something simple and know where it is. Better plan a whole lot of time if you want to go there. Not sure it's worth it.

We've bought mostly small things at Ikea, the quality of most of the products seem to be lacking. Everything is really stylized and unique, but very cheap. I mostly like the art and organizers that they sell.

I got some furnitures some months ago and they were weak with bad stability even on a flat ground. I made a complaint to their customer care, I love the fact that they responded quickly and part of my paid fee was sent to me has compensation.

I purchased a bed from IKEA and had a difficult time picking it up because the staff could not find the bed. It was not ready as promised and we had to return the next day to get it. The bed was a great price but the experience was less than great.

I have purchased a few items from IKEA and have NOT been happy with the quality of their products. The furniture we purchased was flimsy and cheap. Children broke the furniture within the first two weeks of purchase. Would not recommend them.

I am indifferent about IKEA and it's products. I have bought plenty furniture from IKEA in the past and it had been perfect, but recently two shelves I bought were missing screws. I hope this is not a new occurring thing with this company.

Hate the setup of the store. Low quality furniture, but if that is all you can afford then it is good. I can't afford to buy high quality furniture, but I prefer to go without and save my money until I can afford better quality stuff that will last longer.

Had never been to an Ikea store before. My first trip there, I was confused on how to purchase items as they were setup in displays. The staff was minimal to ask questions to..

Can’t really stand IKEA anything. It is cheap material and doesn’t last. The plastic dish ware stuff is ok and the furniture is easy and fun to put together. Big toys is all it is

Bought a great bed from IKEA (weird, right?) but had a hard time going to receive it. The staff couldn't find the bed so it wasn't ready as promised. Big inconvenience.

For the ease of use ikea is a great idea, however their dressers and other furniture do not stand the test of time. Guess you get what you pay for.

Lots of different things to pick from. However it would be fantastic if they could provide better directions, written and illustrated.

Ikea is not worth the time. The fact that you have to travel throughout the whole store is just plane ridiculous.
