The Good

  • Free Shipping and Returns
  • Refund Policy
  • Insurance Accepted
  • Customer Service

Free Shipping and Returns

LensCrafters offers free ground shipping. Processing takes 7 days, but then shipping is an additional 5–7 days. So, you can expect to receive your glasses within 12–14 business days. There are a couple of paid shipping options if you want to get them sooner.

Returns are free via a prepaid shipping label.

Refund Policy

LensCrafters uses a 30-day return policy for online purchases. Customers should contact customer support for a free prepaid shipping label. You can even get a full refund.

Insurance Accepted

Not all online eyeglass retailers will offer to accept health insurance. LensCrafters accepts the following vision insurance plans online:

  • Eyemed
  • Aetna
  • Humana
  • Blue View Vision
  • Ameritas
  • BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee
  • EmblemHealth
  • Health Plan of Nevada
  • GEHA
  • Sentara
  • Tufts Health Plan
  • 20+ more

You can purchase without having to submit an insurance claim form via the Lenscrafters website.

You can also use your out-of-network benefits at LensCrafters, but you may have to submit a receipt to your provider.

Customer Service

Customer support is available via email, phone, mail, and chat. It is always helpful to have lots of options when it comes to contacting customer service.

The Bad

  • Pricing
  • Selection

While you benefit from shopping at a well-known retailer with great service policies, these are more expensive, designer frames. They cost more than most in-house brands from direct to consumer sellers like those offered by EyeBuyDirect, Zenni Optical, and Warby Parker.

Frames range between $69–$535 and, depending on lens options, it can cost an additional $129–$658. So, a pair of glasses with prescription lenses can range between $198–$1,193.

Some online retailers offer thousands of styles to choose from. At LensCrafters, there are fewer than 1,000 options to shop.

The Bottom Line

LensCrafters is a household name in the United States. You don’t even have to leave the house to order glasses, as long as you have an updated prescription.

Compared to other eyeglass stores, LensCrafters doesn’t have the widest selection, nor does it offer the lowest prices. What it does offer is quality service policies, free shipping, a wide variety of insurance networks, and high-quality designer glasses in the latest trends.
