Constant Contact started as "Roving Software" in 1995 and today has become one of the most trusted email marketing providers, passing 50,000 customers by 2005. It is focused on and committed to helping nonprofits and smaller businesses succeed in reaching their full potential.

Constant Contact provides email newsletter services, surveys, events, Facebook promotions, and online listings. Companies that are not sure how to proceed in their market can work with Constant Contact to figure out their business's best marketing strategy.

Endurance International Group acquired the company in 2016, and ever since, its mission has been simple: "help small businesses navigate the promise, power, and potential of the web." This review primarily covers Constant Contact's 60-Day Free Trial; consumers interested in learning more about paid subscription options are encouraged to directly contact the company.

Real-Time Analysis

Constant Contact offers real-time analysis of your digital campaigns and many tracking features. These tools are easy to use and put users in charge of creating effective and powerful digital marketing campaigns.

The company also features a variety of learning tools on their website. Constant Contact hosts several in-person and free seminars and webinars across the country to acquaint users with their products. And Constant Contact maintains its own social media accounts, allowing customers to easily interact with the company and stay privy to upcoming changes or updates.

Charitable

Most companies take advantage of donations for tax purposes, but Constant Contact seems to take charity and community giving to a different level. Other than annual charity auctions, yearly corporate donations of over $150,000, and employee-level community service, the company offers free accounts for youth-focused nonprofits. Additionally, all nonprofits qualify for special discounts.

The Bad

  • Additional Costs

Additional Costs

Some of Constant Contact's features are add-ons, which raises the price of the services. Customer service agents felt more like salespeople and were determined to get a sale rather than answer questions during two of three interactions reported by our review team. Phone support is also only available during business hours, so customers running weekend campaigns will have to wait until the following Monday if they run into any problems.

The Bottom Line

Constant Contact is a good option for many looking to boost their digital marketing strategies. Their free trial doubles that which is offered by their competition. Constant Contact also allows customers to integrate their email marketing campaigns with their existing Twitter and Facebook accounts. With ample how-to information on their site and help via their blog and social media accounts, Constant Contact is a good partner for those looking for email marketing.

Our team recommends Constant Contact as a digital marketing tool.

There are a lot of limitations when it comes to formatting, but the biggest limitation is that clients who have Gmail (which is most of them), the email sent from Constant Contact populate their promotions or social folder. Most of our clients did not know about our upcoming events bor even general announcements because it did not land in the primary folder. We have more than 1500 subscribers and last month the opening rate was 3%. We do not know what to do? Look for better options or wait Constant Contact to up their game.

We use this for all our library email blasts. It's a good product and works well. The only thing is we wish we could get a better deal for our non-profit. It seems a little expensive.

We used CC at most of all of marketing jobs in the past and if we didn't use, I always made the suggestion to. They are the best email marketing company and their agency program is great as well. Plus they offer great classes.

Service is good, quality is good. I do find they are a step behind technology. Their templates are not as fresh as other services. But they are consistent.

Not my favorite platform, but it gets the job done. I used this in one of my internships for a nonprofit and it was a learning curve. Once I got the hang of it, it was okay. Best part of the platform are templates to get you started.
