While some competitors advertise promotional rates that dip during nights and weekends, Gexa Energy responds with guaranteed low average prices that are consistent day, night, and weekend. With their EveryDay | EveryNight Low Price Plan, will fix in a low energy charge for up to 24 months. One thing that Gexa Energy does a good job of is presenting their plans in an easy-to-understand way. They also won't make you watch the clock by underwriting the agreement with an end of plan rate hike or auto-renew rate that doubles or triples cents on the kWh. With the EveryDay | EveryNight Low Price Plan, customers receive a transparent, simple option for their electricity needs, which is saying a lot when compared to many deregulated energy plans with variable-rates and adjustments.

Smart Thermostat

Gexa Energy uses the Lyric Round Wi-Fi Thermostat and makes it available to its customers for added control of their home's energy usage. It comes with easy setup through the Lyric smartphone app, which also allows customers to control the temperature in their home, program the thermostat, asses usage and household energy trends. The Lyric smart thermostat is available for free with the Gexa Lyric 24 plan, or is purchasable in conjunction with any other plan offered by Gexa (valued at $199).

Earn Airline Miles

For customers who like to travel, Gexa Energy's partnership with American Airlines can be a perk. With the Gexa Energy Airline Rewards plan, customers receive 15,000 bonus miles just for signing up, with two miles earned for every dollar spent on energy. Miles can be used on airline flights with American Airlines and their worldwide flight partners, rental cars, hotel rooms, and vacation packages.

Unilateral Plan Benefits

While Gexa Energy does provide some great benefits, these benefits are generally associated with one plan, and one plan only. For customers who want to earn miles, utilize renewable energy, and enjoy EveryDay | EveryNight rates, there is no way to do so. Rather, a customer will have to select which of those three they want most and enjoy that one perk/benefit throughout the course of the contract, or in some cases a month-to-month agreement. This can be disheartening to some who want to dip into more than of their advertised perks.

Month-to-Month Plan Rates

For customers who are looking for an energy company but do not want to get locked into a long-term contract, Gexa Energy does provide month-to-month rates. With that flexibility of a month-to-month term, customers will sacrifice on the rate their electricity costs them, which can sometime fluctuate by as much as 22 cents per kWh in the Winter or Summer months, severely altering a customer's normal bill by a substantial amount.

With great individual plan benefits, competitive rates for longer-term plans, and a modern approach to deregulated power, Gexa Energy can be a great choice for those customers who are comfortable locking in their rate and benefits 24 months at a time. For those customers who value their flexibility, the month-to-month rate fluctuation can be unpredictable and soar at certain times of the year, which may not make Gexa Energy the ideal company for them.
