They do negotiate well on your behalf and the calls from creditors will stop. Once you have a payment arrangement with them, it is impossible to modify and the chat personnel cannot seem to do anything useful. Overall I am on the fence with them, they do there job but I would like to be able to move a payment to accommodate my funds availability.

When a client is in the middle of structure settlement it's difficult to have us modify your monthly deposit as we have agreed to make those payments on time for those settlements. Just another company to walk on those of us that are less fortunate and informed. I have watched my credit score drop 78 points in the last 3 months since I started my program. FDR has done absolutely nothing in regards to resolving any of my accounts. Then they like to speak down to you over the phone and explain how “most don’t understand” their program. They have taken close to $80.00 in fees, but not one single bit of progress has been made almost 90 full days later. Even when you have enough in your savings account to pay off smaller debts. They just allow your credit to continue to ding instead of moving it towards that debt. I feel this company is MUCH more concerned with getting money from you than actually helping resolve any debt in a timely manner before it’s unrecoverable. (To anyone thinking about responding to this, I’m past your sales person lies, your company already did over 2+ years of damage I had finally recovered before I believed your sales pitch of a lie)

We sincerely apologize for your frustration, sir. Allow us to explain our process further. Please accept our apologies if our program was not explained thoroughly to you. We are not a debt consolidation program. How we successfully assist clients in reducing the debt they owe is by negotiating structured settlement amounts for less than the balance (usually including interest and late fees) owed by the client. Once the settled amount has been collected by the creditor, the account is considered as resolved and no other balances are due for that account. However, in order to obtain a settlement, we have to present enough funds to the creditor to negotiate with. The funds accumulate from your monthly deposits scheduled for each month. Once there are enough funds in the dedicated account to negotiate with (usually within the first 4 to 6 months in our program), the negotiation process can begin. Please understand that during this time, the creditors are reporting the account negatively to the credit bureaus. This is why you are seeing the negative impact to your credit score. However, this is temporary. Once the accounts began to settle and the creditors update the status with the credit bureaus, you will then see a positive impact to your credit score.
Also, when it comes to our settlement fees, please know that these are not collected until a settlement has been obtained and the first payment has been scheduled to the creditor. Then and only then does Freedom Debt Relief collect any fees. Since Freedom Debt Relief is not a law firm, we can't give legal advice or provide legal representation to our clients. However, we do offer our clients the option to subscribe to a service from The National Litigation Law Group (“NLLG”), a national collections defense law firm. For a monthly subscription fee (paid to NLLG, not to Freedom Debt Relief), NLLG will represent Freedom Debt Relief clients in the event a creditor files a collections lawsuit. Also, the dedicated account is provided by the financial institution, Crossroads Financial Technologies (CFT). In order to maintain the dedicated account, the institution charges a monthly maintenance fee. Again, this fee is collected by CFT; not Freedom Debt Relief.

By in large my experie has been satisfactory. Some of the support staff does not always know what they are doing. Fees that are charged have never been properly explained .
