Achieva Credit Union was established in 1937. For the last 80 years, Achieva has focused on providing positive banking experiences to people from all walks of life. Unlike a bank, Achieva is a not-for-profit credit union, which means they are owned and operated by the members they serve. Currently they have 24 branches and over 140,000 members in the state of Florida. Achieva strives to personalize the lending experience to each consumer, underwriting and processing everything locally, and is ranked as one of the top lenders in Florida.

In addition to banking options, including credit cards, checking and savings accounts, and mortgages, Achieva Credit Union offers auto loans, boat and RV loans, motorcycle loans, refinancing loans, and personal loans. Potential borrowers can be approved quickly, often the same day, offering competitive rates and flexible terms for various loan needs. Additionally, Achieva provides Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP) on auto insurance, providing borrowers with additional financial protection in the case of an auto accident.

The Bad

  • Average Rates
  • Coverage

Average Rates

Most of the major rates offered by Achieva offer aren't the most competitive. Although they are not the worst rates we've seen, there is definitely some room for improvement in this area. For example, the checking account rates are 0.50 percent which we don't see as either really good or really bad. Instead, this is an average rate you will probably be able to find at several other credit unions.

Currently, Achieva provides their banking services to the residence of Florida only. If you are not a resident of Florida and you want to do your banking with achieva, you might need to find a credit union that is available in your state.

The Bottom Line

Achieva Credit Union has been providing their banking services to the residences of Florida for the last 80 years. They focus on providing good banking services to people of all walks of life. Their checking plus rewards and benefits offers premium benefits like travel and health savings, comprehensive IDProtect services, and other practical lifestyle benefits. Achieva's mobile technology makes your banking online easy and stress-free. Also, a variety of loans and business features will help you to be prepared for the future.

However, Achieva Credit Union rates and terms are average for the industry, and there is a possibility that you could find better rates elsewhere. Therefore, don't be afraid to take the time to compare credit unions and banking options to find the best rates and terms for you.

I have had both a savings and checking account at Achieva for many years. Their online banking makes my bill payments very simple. On the rare times I have to go into the bank, the tellers are very polite and helpful.
