Journey of Hope, founded in 2014, seeks to provide support to women and girls who are at risk of further harm or incarceration — including, but not limited to, women and girls fleeing from domestic violence and trafficking, women and girls experiencing homelessness and addiction, and women transitioning from jail or prison.
Through a variety of resources and services, Journey of Hope provides access to housing, health care, mentoring, case management and more to empower women and girls.

Experienced Staff
Many of the Journey of Hope staff have come from similar circumstances that its clients are facing, such as homelessness, domestic violence, rape, incarceration, and substance abuse. This allows staff to provide unique and personalized care and assistance. Many other organizations that offer similar services can’t offer this level of support based on staff backgrounds.
Variety of Client Services
Journey of Hope offers a variety of services for women and girls:
- Low income population services — Journey of Hope provides assistance to women and girls at the lowest levels of federal poverty. To assist low-income clients, Journey of Hope will first address the need for transitional housing and then work quickly to secure health and employment services, among other critical services that an individual may need.
- Homelessness services — In many cases, women experiencing homelessness are fleeing domestic violence and/or sexual abuse, so Journey of Hope will provide assistance by first assessing women for imminent threat or harm. Based on each woman’s specific needs, Journey of Hope will connect them to shelters and also provide food services.
- Mental illness and disability services — Journey of Hope works with a variety of mental health care professionals and services to provide care for clients. Some of these partnerships include Fourth Street Clinic, Volunteers of America, and Valley Behavioral.

Journey of Hope provides a robust list of community resources, connecting clients to foundations, programs, centers, and services for a variety of needs:
- Housing resources (Journey of Hope itself is not a housing resource, but staff are trained to access safe housing for clients.)

Volunteer Opportunities
Journey of Hope is in need of volunteers to provide assistance inside Utah correctional facilities and outside facilities as mentors. In addition, you can volunteer your time to help in Journey of Hope’s fundraising efforts.
