I am lucky enough to work for Americares. I am a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Specialist. I'm a part of a wonderful program recently created by Americares as a result of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the East Coast. My role is to train the brave men and woman who respond to disasters before, during and long after; to demonstrate ways to manage stress and compassion fatigue; and to help confront burnout and much more. The employees I am lucky to work with have been the kindest, most passionate and genuine individuals I have met. They all are incredibility talented and have a passion rivaled by very few others. We have an amazing CEO who is a delight to work for. I am honored to work for him. This is an organization worth donating to.

If I could give it zero stars I would. AmeriCares is handling the healthcare aide servicesfor my 95-year-old mother after a hip fracture. They have misled with respect to the time the aides. They said they would come 12 to 3. Come different times every day. We have had a different aide almost every day and for two days straight, no aide showed up at all. They also passed my mom to another health care agency. As this is paid for by Medicare, I wonder how they are charging Medicare for non-service on those days. Never choose AmeriCares
