US Mobile offers customers custom and unlimited prepaid talk, text, and data plans. The carrier’s 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE and GSM LTE networks reach over 300 million Americans. US Mobile’s prepaid plans focus on flexibility and affordability and include international calling to over 200 countries and territories.
You can try both of US Mobile’s networks risk free. For $4, you can order a prepaid SIM starter kit with SIM cards for both its LTE and GSM LTE networks. It takes three to five minutes to activate your service once your kit arrives, and then you can test out both to see which network works better for you.
If you’re not completely satisfied with the customer support or the phone service, you can get a complete refund within 14 days of service, 300 texts, or 300 MB of data consumption.
Students get free SIM card starter kits and anyone can get a promo code that gets you a starter kit for free.
US Mobile claims that its GSM LTE network works with all devices and its super LTE network provides the most reliable coverage and works on some devices. Which network is best for you depends on your current carrier, location, and your device, but almost all unlocked phones with a SIM card slot work with US Mobile. If your phone is currently locked to a carrier, US Mobile will help unlock it with you.
Other mobile devices are also compatible with the networks, including GPS trackers, tablets, cars, wireless alarm systems, smart watches, and other smart devices.
You can shop for a new smartphone or basic phone from the US Mobile website. Shipping in the United States is free and comes with a free SIM card. However, you cannot purchase device insurance through the carrier, and there are no financing options available.
US Mobile customers pick the data speed that works best for them (standard for $0 per month, fast for $5 per month, or even faster for $15 per month). Then you add minutes, texts, and data amounts to your preferred data speed choice. With the unlimited plan, unlimited talk and text alone costs $10 per month. You can add a hotspot for $10 per month.
You pay for a 30-day plan when your plan starts so you don’t have to worry about being locked into a contract with US Mobile. Customers also have the option of switching to AutoPay to have their plan renewed automatically every 30 days for simplicity.
You can increase your talk, text, or data balance in the middle of the month by buying Top Ups, and these Top Up amounts roll over to the next billing cycle as long as AutoPay is enabled.
Unlike many other carriers that offer multi-line discounts or family-specific plans, each plan with US Mobile is for one line only. You cannot share data or other service amounts across devices in a group.
While unused Top Up minutes, text, or data amounts do roll over to the next month, unused talk, text, and data from your base plan do not roll over to the next billing cycle. If you notice you are not using everything you’re paying for each month, you may want to consider a plan with less minutes, text, or data and utilize the Top Up option if you need extra to make sure you’re not paying for more than you use.
US Mobile is a good carrier for the consumer who doesn’t want to be locked into a long-term contract. The prepaid monthly plans are flexible and customizable to your needs and preferences and include international calling.
However, international roaming is not yet available, and there aren’t options for multiple phone lines within a single account.
