The Good

  • No Middleman or Dealerships
  • Certified Vehicles
  • Worry-Free Guarantee
  • Get Prequalified in Two Minutes
  • No Haggling Tool

No Middleman or Dealerships

Buying a vehicle through Carvana will provide you with a new way to shop. Carvana cuts out the middleman and dealerships, which means you won't have to pay any hefty dealer fees or sit around at a dealership for hours on end in order to receive financing.

Certified Vehicles

Every vehicle Carvana sells comes with a "Carvana Certification," which means that the car has passed through a rigorous inspection and reconditioning process that includes a 150-point inspection, an oil change, and a premium detail.

Worry-Free Guarantee

All Carvana vehicles come with a worry-free guarantee. The company provides you with a free Experian Autocheck vehicle history report prior to purchase and guarantees your new car for 100 days or 4,189 miles, whichever comes first.

Carvana also offers a no-questions-asked return policy that allows you to return the vehicle and terminate your contract for any reason within seven days of purchase.

Get Prequalified in Two Minutes

With Carvana, you can get prequalified online in two minutes with no hit to your credit score. You will then receive a real down payment and immediately know what interest rate and terms are available to you.

No Haggling Tool

Carvana's "no haggling" tool enables you to shop for a vehicle on your own terms from the comfort of your home. You simply input every combination of what you want into the Finance Dials and Carvana will show you exactly what your interest rate, down payment options, monthly payment, and loan terms will be for the criteria you specified.

For example, you could input that you want a payment under $400 on a 48-month term with no money down and the no haggling tool will do the rest.

The Bad

  • Limited Free Delivery Locations
  • Restocking Fees
  • No Joint Financing
  • Lack of Transparency

Limited Free Delivery Locations

Carvana only offers free vehicle delivery to consumers within a 100-mile radius of the following cities:

  • Atlanta
  • Austin
  • Birmingham
  • Charlotte
  • Cincinnati
  • Cleveland
  • Columbus
  • Dallas
  • Houston
  • Indianapolis
  • Jacksonville
  • Memphis
  • Miami
  • Nashville
  • Orlando
  • Pittsburgh
  • Raleigh
  • Richmond
  • San Antonio
  • Tampa

Consumers who live outside of the free delivery area must contact Carvana to find out what the cost will be to deliver to their area.

Restocking Fees

Carvana doesn't charge any restocking fees if you live within 100 miles of one of its service areas. However, if you live outside of this radius or have exceeded 400 miles during the seven-day period, you will be charged additional fees.

No Joint Financing

Carvana finances single-buyer loans. If you want to get a joint loan with a co-signer, you will have to fund through a different car loan company.

Lack of Transparency

Carvana doesn't do the best job when it comes to being transparent on its website. For example, the company has not disclosed interest rates, terms, loan amounts, or mileage limits.

The Bottom Line

Carvana offers two-minute pre-qualification, certified vehicles, and a worry-free guarantee. However, the company only offers free delivery to consumers who live in certain areas and is not entirely transparent on its corporate website.

When I sold my car to CARVANA it was a great experience, everything was flawless, they looked it over, we sign some papers, wrote the check, and they took it away. With that type of satisfying experience, one would figure buying a car from them would be just as flawless right? WELLLL....The car I selected was a 2015 BMW 650I, a beautiful car, LOTS OF POWER. They showed up late, but it was cool, had me outside as if I was waiting on the mailman to drop off a government check...LOL...Carvana use to offer 4,189 miles with a 7 day money back guarantee if you don't want the vehicle. Now they offer 400 miles which is very unrealistic. You could at least offer 1500 miles or shorten the days to match the 400 miles...2 days or 1. Back to why I'm writing the opposite review of what I thought I was going to write earlier. So, on the third day, still, within my 7-day window...the check engine light came on as I leaving the parking lot. I scheduled to have a diagnostic check with BMW that same day. Turns out the air mixture was too lean (crankcase line broken) air was getting into intake system. Now SilverRock.Inc the warranty company they use was great. They approve the repair over the phone and I walked away with a $50 deductible which CARVANA is going to reimburse. Now so far, you are probably wondering why give them 3 stars. Ok...Let me tell you. Carvana took my 2015 BMW 535I when they dropped off the BMW 650I. Carvana says you are allowed to swap vehicles within 7 days. I decided to swap over to the 2015 BMW 640I, 3.0 six cylinder, turbo 315 hp. Should be a bit more friendly on the gas considering my occupation. Swapping isn't the problem either, actually, it was a great experience as well. Now you are really confused and think I'm just complaining right?... I'm not hold on. Carvana tells me that the swap will not be delivered until next week March 30. In the mean time, you have to keep an eye on the 400 miles. I'm entitled to swap but I can't drive over 400 miles. You took my car and left me a lease. I still have to work but I can't drive over 400 miles. If you do, its $1 per mile. Why not leave my car and take it once the decision is made. Either you will return to pick up my car or yours. Or as I said before, give 1500 miles, make it more realistic to a 7 day trial period. Why am I being penalized for your policy? I called to check on this because I know the value of this car and to have more miles on it, doesn't help. All this is probably in the paperwork but do we read all the paperwork and fine print "No". So, who can I blame..."ME". But I have this sexy, expensive vehicle in my drive way that I can't drive unless I go take out $400 for the week in order to go to work. Now, Carvana did show mercy and gave me a 200-mile extension, but that isn't much better. It will get me 2 days to work and home. This is the reason for the 3-star review. If you can't get the swap to the person within a reasonable time, take that option away, or extend the miles to 2000 miles or 100 days. You say the car is inspected with a 150 point check. I guess that doesn't count wheel alignment because the car needed that as well. Now, I understand the car is used not brand new. I don't have a problem paying for a wheel alignment because if you are going to complain about the maintenance get a different car. I get it...I'm just upset and disappointed in the 400 miles and not getting the swap alot sooner.

I previously wrote a glowing review. My experience was exceptional in the beginning. Then..... I repeatedly called to ensure that my license plates would be transferred. I did not want new plates. 6 weeks go by and I get new plates in the mail. I call them and customer service says I see in your file it's noted several times that you want to transfer your plates I do not know why they sent you new plates. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for me and now I have to go to motor vehicle which, has been closed for the last 3 months due to Covid 19, and the wait time is hours long and all the time I save not sitting in a dealership to purchase a car I now have to sit those hours waiting on a 3 hour line at a motor vehicle agency to get my plates back. I am so disappointed.

Recently purchased a vehicle online through Carvana. The vehicle’s scratches and imperfections were not noted on the photos. Upon delivery, the driver took pictures of all of the scratches that I pointed out. The driver then sent the photos to the Carvana repair team. One day later, they emailed, and said they would repair the front bumper, and give us $100 for our lower rear bumper damage. ($100 doesn’t compensate anything for the lower rear bumper damage by the way.) I think Carvana has a good business concept, but they are typical when it comes to taking accountability for the damage on their cars. They should have been accurate with their online photos, and not claim that the vehicle I purchased had zero imperfections. I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying online. Nothing is better than purchasing in person...even though Carvana claims to be “transparent “ with their car photos and information.

Financing approval was smooth,Paper work was a bit of a hassle, Had to sign the contract 3 times. (2nd time for full name to be added and 3rd time for delivery reschedule which was a day early, which was great they called and asked did I want it a day early, the only hiccup was changing the insurance policy to start a day earlier. There were a few more very light dents and scratches (inside and out)than listed on the website, (not enough to make a deal breaker) Delivery people were very nice and made the delivery process very pleasant. Vehicle was clean but not detailed. There is a deference between clean and detailed. I was able to inspect the vehicle and test drive it before taking ownership of it. Just by my quick inspection everything looked good as best I could see. I really don't think the 150 point inspection is done as per the website states. Here is why I say that(tires needed to have the air pressure checked(had 41 lbs of air in each tire which was over the recommendations and is dangerous) they needed rotated and balanced, engine air filter was very dirty, which makes me wonder about the other filters, such as fuel, trans, oil etc...Not really any cheaper than a dealership because I looked up the retail on car fax and edmonds which was pretty close to what I paid. And after checking at some online dealers they had the same vehicle with the exact options at about 1000 dollars less. anyway I am pleased with it and have plenty of warranty(some left on vehicle and some I purchased just in case and time will tell. And it has a new battery which is ok but makes me wonder why a new battery on a three year old vehicle? It was in overall good shape for a 55800 mile 2016 but not in as Great as it should have been for that mileage and age.

The purchasing experience was pretty straightforward, but the team failed to do a thorough detailing job before dropping it off (we found trash and old french fries in the car). Additionally, they offer to handle your registration for plates, but there are no options for vanity or specialty plates and - in my case - they failed to take action quickly enough to prevent me from having to go the DMV in person (which was the entire intent of that service). While the car is a solid 4.5/5, the experience, the customer service, and the problems they created that I had to solve in person dropped that review to a solid 3/5.

The experience was fine, when I got the car it needed a new battery within a week, ($350 BMW battery) And the rear tires were 3 sizes smaller than the stock size leaving the wheels very exposed and frankly looking very silly and also not even spec'd for the car, and the washer fluid was froze solid in the car. Outside of these issues the car seems fine but I'm not happy that I need to spend $1000 on the car I just bought that wasn't even a great deal and they listed in the ad 2 new tires as a perk even though they put on some crappy tires that are way too small on the car.

I needed to call customer support 3 times just to fix my account that wasn't letting me sign any contracts, two days before I was supposed to get the car I got an email telling me it was delayed by a week. This just put me in the hole with a car rental place and the only thing they give you is someone saying "Sorry for the inconvenience." Besides not being helpful there the customer service people are pretty nice and helpful, I'm sure they have rules in place why the one that said that couldn't actually do anything to help.

Got a Prius. 2015. Great car and I love it. But there were several headlights burnt out. I replaced them rather that calling. Maybe a mistake. But the car record show it was an enterprise rental. Yikes. Still runs good. I went to wash it for the second time and the paint on the bottom rear bumper blew off. I was past the warranty so I said whatever. But it clearly shows poor workmanship. The bumper was replaced before it was sold. Do I like Carvana? Partially. I dislike dealers. But they oversell their cars for sure.

Bought a car from them, everything was fine until they couldn’t receive my down payment. They are awful with communication. Something went wrong on their end but because the buying period was over I couldn’t go back and fix the online banking issue. Then I tried to online wire them the payment and they apparently can’t receive that either. They contact me the day before the date is finally due and tell me I have till end of day the next day to send a payment. Awful communication skills and need to fix their online payment process
