The Writing Crew is a writing, editing, and publishing company that has been in business since 2014. The company is headquartered on 6th Avenue in New York City, and it is especially known for employing a network of more than 2,000 professional ghostwriters who help authors in every step of the writing process.

While The Writing Crew boasts an impressive portfolio and has published a couple New York Times bestselling novels, its services are not exclusive to established authors. The company has also published over 500 traditional novels and more than 25 bestselling books. Its services are available both to experienced authors and to those just starting out.

The Good

  • Variety of Services
  • Expertise
  • Ghostwriting
  • Approachable

Variety of Services

The Writing Crew’s list of services offered is expansive. On top of being a full-fledged publishing house and employing a large number of ghostwriters, the company also provides speech writing, social media content writing, web copywriting, blog writing, and much more.

The company offers this wide range of services in order to make itself available to writers and companies at every stage of their processes. Whether you are seeking an editor, a ghostwriter, a publisher, or a content marketer, you will find the help you need at The Writing Crew.

Expertise

The team at The Writing Crew includes several New York Times bestselling ghostwriters for practically every genre. In addition, several of the company’s editors formerly worked for Big 5 publishing houses. The depth of expertise in both its writers and its editors helps The Writing Crew to work with writers at every stage of their process, and makes it a reliable choice for authors who may be less experienced in the publishing sphere.

The Writing Crew also has an impressive portfolio of works published, including novels by authors including Dan Brown, Yann Martel, and Tom Clancy, to name a few. The company clearly has an eye for detail and a knack for spotting talent.

Ghostwriting

The Writing Crew’s crowning service is its ghostwriting. With a network of more than 2,000 ghostwriters, the company has set itself up as a go-to option for authors at all stages of writing who are looking for a ghostwriter to bring their ideas to fruition.

Ghostwriters at The Writing Crew will work closely with you to ensure that your voice and vision come through in your writing. As part of a multi-step process meant to give your work the best chance of success, you will have individual strategy meetings with your ghostwriter(s) in order to ensure that everyone is on the same page.

Approachable

The Writing Crew’s website is user friendly and easy to figure out. It also makes it easy to get in contact with the company. When we looked at other publishing company sites, some were not as clear about being willing to work with authors at all stages of the writing process.

This fact may be due to The Writing Crew not being a Big 5 publishing house; it takes an easier-to-contact approach in order to not come off as elite. It wants experienced and new authors alike to feel comfortable requesting its services.

The Bad

  • No Pricing Listed
  • Less Experienced

No Pricing Listed

While pricing for a publishing company does largely depend on your industry and specific needs, The Writing Crew does not give any sort of price range or pricing information to guide your decision about whether a consultation would be worth your time. This can be a drawback if you know you have a specific budget and don’t have a lot of time to set up a meeting just to know if working with this company would be an option.

Less Experienced

The Writing Crew was founded in 2014 — relatively recently compared to longstanding publishing houses that have been in the business for decades. This may not be a disadvantage, since its offerings might be more modernized; however, editing and publishing services do benefit from a long history and established reputation — something The Writing Crew doesn’t have yet.

The Bottom Line

While The Writing Crew doesn’t necessarily have the experience of other publishing houses, it does have expertise in a wide variety of writing services. Whether you are a new or experienced author, The Writing Crew is worth contacting to see if its services match your needs.

I was looking to write a my own book, however, I was really busy and my English is not up to the mark specifically when it comes to formal book writing. The only thing possible for me is to just create an outline by my own. so I Google and got in touch with many companeis and the writing crew is one of them. I've got in touch with Kevin and he let me coordinate with the dedicated writer. the writer was very professional and knows exactly what needs to be asked and how to understand my point of view. My topic was regarding "digital marketing guide". they deliver the initial draft within 2 weeks and book in 3.5 months including editing, book cover and free submissions to books sites. I'm looking forward to promote my book and hopeful to get a good response from the audience. Kevin is a gem! thanks a lot.
