Annuity Products

Prudential Annuities offers three types of annuities: Fixed, Variable, and Fixed Index. Annuities are issued by Pruco Life Insurance Company or by Prudential Annuities Life Assurance Corporation. Prudential's Variable annuities are distributed by Prudential Annuities Distributors.

Prudential suggests that investors thoroughly read and go over their portfolio's investment objectives, policies, management, risks, charges, and expenses carefully before investing. This is the case with all annuity products, but we appreciate Prudential's dedication to making sure its clients are well-informed and aware of any and all stipulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Prudential has a Frequently Asked Questions page that answers several annuity-focused questions. Right now, the majority of the questions are either general or tax-related. Hopefully, Prudential will expand this section and include more frequently asked questions.

However, that said, if you're looking for information as to how an annuity will impact your taxes or how to include them on your taxes, this is a fantastic resource.

Find a Financial Professional

Consumers can easily find a financial advisor or professional near them using Prudential's Find a Financial Professional tool.

This allows you to find a financial advisor by merely entering your location (zip code, city, or state), by the advisor's name, or by their specialties (retirement, financial strategy, etc.).

General Information

If you're interested in learning more about annuities in general, Prudential's website has plenty of articles, blog posts, videos, and other media to help. This is an excellent resource if you're unsure what type of annuity you want and could use some direction.

The Bad

  • Overwhelming Amount of Information

Overwhelming Amount of Information

If you're new to the idea of an annuity, Prudential's website may feel a bit overwhelming. The company includes many details on its website about investment options, performances, prices, fact cards, and annuity prospectuses. When looking at the website, this information can confuse and even deter potential investors.

If this is the case, we recommend reaching out to the company and asking for a financial advisor. A company representative or advisor should easily clear up any confusion and help you on your way to investing.

The Bottom Line

Prudential is a reliable company that investors can trust. The company offers several types of annuities, and we recommend contacting a financial advisor to find out which one is right for you.

There is plenty of information regarding Prudential's annuities, and if you're ever confused, you can quickly contact a financial advisor or professional for help.

Brian Bannister

As an advisor to see Prudential Defined Income down over the 5 year period since my client purchased it is completely ridiculous. This annuity is a huge lemon! It so bad that I have stopped doing business with Pru. This annuity has high fees and the only investment option (AST Multi-Sector Fixed Income Portfolio) is down 3.67% over the last 5 years. Absolutely ridiculous!! They should allow clients to move this dumpster fire without surrender charges. Or find a better fixed income fund as the investment option. Stay away from Pru!
