Dyson began its journey in 1978 when one man's frustration with a subpar vacuum came to a tipping point. After five years and 5,217 prototypes, Dyson had invented the world's first bagless vacuum cleaner.

Although Dyson is mainly thought of as a company that produces vacuums, it has expanded its products to fans, heaters, air purifiers, blow dryers, and hand dryers.

According to Dyson's website, there are Dyson machines in over 65 countries around the world. Throughout its years in the industry, Dyson has grown from a one-man with one idea operation to a world-known technology company with over 1,000 engineers worldwide.

The Good

  • Purifier, Humidifier, and Fan
  • Filtration System
  • Deep Clean Cycle
  • Free 2-Day Shipping
  • Price Match Promise
  • Dyson Financing
  • Company Experience

Purifier, Humidifier, and Fan

Dyson's air purifiers are truly one of a kind. The purifying towers capture 99.97 percent of allergens and pollutants, but can also be used as a fan or humidifier. This blend of technology is not standard throughout the industry and sets Dyson's units apart.

Consumers have a variety of Dyson air purifiers to choose from (depending on the desired size and price range). Still, all units come with a HEPA filtration system that captures and eliminates allergens, pollutants, bacteria, and gases.

Filtration System

A few of the purifiers come with a two-stage filtration system. This system includes a HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter. According to the company website, "The sealed HEPA filter is made from borosilicate microfibers pleated hundreds of times, to capture particles as small as allergens and viruses. While the activated carbon filter removes gases and odors."

So Dyson's air purifier will not only help with seasonal allergies but also get rid of embarrassing odors.

Deep Clean Cycle

Dyson's new purifying humidifying fan offers an easy-to-use deep clean cycle. During this cycle, the unit removes mineral build-up and bacterias throughout the machine.

Free 2-Day Shipping

Dyson offers free shipping on products such as vacuum cleaners, fans, heaters, humidifiers, purifiers, hairdryers, and lighting. Orders that are received by 1 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday will ship that same day. Any orders received after 1 p.m. (EST) generally ship the next day.

Price Match Promise

Dyson strives for satisfied customers, so if a customer finds their exact unit (at an authorized US Dyson retailer) at a lower price, Dyson will refund them the difference. However, there are a few requirements that must be met:

  • The customer must have purchased the product within the last 30 days.
  • The product must be the exact same model number as it appears on Dyson.com and in stock.
  • There must be proof of advertised price by an authorized dealer is required (copy of flyer or a website URL). Additionally, the advertised price must be the listed price (membership/loyalty or promo code entries are not eligible for price matching).
  • Authorized dealers are limited to Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Lowes, MOMA, QVC, Sam's Club, Target, and Video Audio Center.
  • The product must be new and in original packaging. It cannot be reconditioned (refurbished), used, damaged, returned, open box, close out, clearance, or a demonstrator product.
  • Product price must not be lower due to an advertising error or misprint.
  • Dyson Hair Care products, including the Dyson Supersonic, Dyson Airwrap, and Dyson Corrale, are not eligible for price matching.

Dyson Financing

Consumers who purchase a purifier directly from Dyson's website can finance the purchase through Affirm.

Affirm allows consumers to spread their monthly payments over 3, 6, or 12 months and the company offers 0 percent APR financing. Although consumers will need to keep in mind that a down payment may be required, payment options will depend on the purchase amount, and their APR is based on their credit score.

Company Experience

Dyson has been around since 1991, and in that time, the company has had time to design and perfect a variety of products. However, along with making new and improved machines, Dyson has garnered an impressive number of loyal customers.

The Bad

  • Expensive Products
  • Shipping Exceptions

Expensive Products

Dyson's products are sleek, modern, and have some of the most advanced technologies. However, this also means that the products are a bit more expensive.

The Dyson Pure Cool (TP04) unit is one of the more basic air purifiers and still costs $549.99.

Dyson's Pure Cool Me (BP01) unit is a small personal fan but costs $349.99.

Consumers should also expect to purchase replacement accessories every few years.

Extra Shipping Charges

Although Dyson offers free shipping on its larger products, consumers will have to pay a shipping and handling fee of $8.95 for all tools, accessories, and spare parts.

The Bottom Line

Dyson is one of the most recognized brands in the world, and it's not without reason. The company has dedicated years of creating, designing, and manufacturing products that are sleek, compact, modern, and technologically advanced. Dyson's air purifiers are certainly a product worth looking into as they now include multiple features and capabilities. The all-in-one system is capable of keeping you cool all while eliminating harmful viruses, bacteria, and allergens. Dyson units also work with Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, allowing you to control your unit with your phone. Consumers may be shocked at Dyson's prices (as they are quite high), but the company offers financing through Affirm.

Overall, we suggest looking into Dyson's products if you're looking for a reliable product that utilizes innovative technology in a sleek and modern way.

I paid 900 for a pet vac that stopped working after one year. I had one dog (Americanbulldog). I tossed the dyson on the curb and bought a bissel pet vac Works great. It picked up everything the dyson didnt. Don't believe the hype.

Very poorly produced. The filters don't fit right half the time, they are very loud while running, and the price is way to high. I bought a Dyson back in 2018 and it didn't even last 6 months.

Extremely expensive and really does the same thing as other air purifiers. Dyson is just overpriced because of their "sleek" designs. Would not recommend unless you have the money to spend.
