AirDoctor is the first affordable air purifier that removes almost 100 percent of particles and the vast majority of toxic ozone, volatile organic chemicals, and gases.
AirDoctor combines an UltraHEPA™ filter with a proprietary dual-action Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC filter to remove or substantially reduce virtually all the particles, toxic ozone, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) and gases from the air in your home.
Additionally, AirDoctor features WhisperJet fans, which are 30 percent quieter than other air purifiers. The purifier also offers features such as a built-in air quality monitor, which informs homeowners of their home's current air quality and automatically adjusts filtration level based on the air quality in the room.
Purchasing everything you need for an AirDoctor purifier may be a bit expensive upfront. The company has partnered with Affirm to allow customers to buy their system with low monthly payments. However, monthly payments are only available if your order includes an AirDoctor unit.
The AirDoctor consumes about 11 watts on the low setting and 95 watts on the highest setting. While how often the purifier is used and the speed settings will vary by customer, AirDoctor claims that it should only cost about $30 to $40 per year (running on auto-mode 24/7).
AirDoctor uses the exclusive UltraHEPA™ filter. While conventional HEPA systems claim to remove 99.97 percent of particles down to .3 microns. AirDoctor's UltraHEPA has been independently tested to remove 100 percent of airborne particles at 0.003 microns in size, 100 times smaller than the HEPA standard.
A variety of health conditions may show up days, months, or years after exposure to harmful pollutants. AirDoctor may help relieve short-term symptoms such as sneezing, wheezing, itchy throat or nose, watery eyes, itchy skin, hives, nasal congestion, coughing, fatigue, irritability, runny nose, and stomach aches.
AirDoctor units cost $629 with a shipping and processing fee of $29.95, which is not the cheapest option we've found but also not the most expensive.
However, consumers will need to keep in mind that an AirDoctor UltraHEPA filter should last about one year (depending on usage). Still, a replacement filter costs $59.95 plus a shipping and processing fee of $9.95. There is a pre-filter, but this can be hand-washed and reused, but if you need a replacement, it will cost $19.95 (plus the shipping and processing fee of $9.95).
Unfortunately, the air inside our homes can be up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air pollution is caused by a number of particles like pollen, dust, bacteria, viruses, pet dander, mold spores, and more. The AirDoctor combines the power of its UltraHEPA filter with the dual-action Carbon/Gas Trap/ VOC filter to remove dangerous and harmful pollutants. While the AirDoctor isn't the most expensive unit, the $629 price tag doesn't include pricey shipping and processing fees and consumers will need to tack on the price of replacement filters.
