Founded in 2004, Wedshare is based out of San Jose, California. WedShare promises access to the most customizable couples sites and an array of wedding planning tools - plus it guarantees that there are no hidden fees or add-on costs.
If you stand by the motto that more is more, WedShare is for you. It offers unlimited everything, and we do mean everything: custom wedding site pages, photos, videos, media albums, files, blog-following via RSS feed, ecards and updates, email space, content entries and more. Let's not forget the freebies that are also included in your package: a custom domain name, webmail service, custom email creation, access to a variety of planning tools and even a 480-page digital wedding planning book. Don't be put off by WedShare's simplistic design - it still gives you the ability to create a professional-looking wedding site. Although it features only twenty theme options for your site, each can be customized with several available color palettes or textures to make it your own. In addition, you can adjust the layout of each individual page. WedShare also offers the most options for apps to integrate with your site, including Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Still want more? Use other apps to create forms on your site, track how many visitors stop by, quiz your guests and show the weather report. For brides-to-be that have limited technical knowledge, WedShare promises that its planning tools and site creator are easy to use. The dashboard is organized with straightforward toolbars, icons and editing buttons, which certainly takes some of the guesswork out of navigating through the features and customizing the various elements of your site.
WedShare is the priciest wedding planning website we reviewed. You can do a 14 day free trial to try out all of the premium options before committing. You can also use a free 12 month subscription to make a website for free, but this option cuts down on the storage space allowed, as well as most other page options. For a year of access to all the nifty premium features we mentioned above, you'll spend $79, or you can opt for the 6 month subscription at $59.
A service fully-focused on providing personalized wedding sites with integrated planning tools, WedShare doesn't provide much more content beyond its blog.
Our biggest gripe about WedShare is the blog. It's very difficult to read - our reviewers would prefer a cleaner layout of the author info, categories, tags and comment notifications so we could scroll through the previews more efficiently. Also, the thumbnails that correspond with each post are very small - it's impossible to tell what some of them are. Furthermore, the overall quality of the blog content is not on par with many of the other sites we reviewed; the posts are short and basic, lacking details and explanations that are typically included on the other sites. WedShare could also improve its appeal by making the site fully responsive - it's a challenge to navigate it efficiently from a mobile device.
