Just Host has been providing affordable hosting solutions to customers all over the world since 1996. They are based in Orem, UT, and went public in 2013. Just Host is a sister company to BlueHost and HostMonster. All of these hosting companies are supported by the same sales and tech teams. They also share a data center in Provo, UT, but each company has their own servers within the data center. Of the three sister companies, Just Host is the most affordable option.

Great Features

Just Host offers incredibly affordable hosting options. Their introductory rate is $2.75/month, which is incredibly low for a web-hosting service. Just Host also offers great customer service options including live chat, email, phone, and an extensive knowledge base. We like that Just Host offers all of these great customer service options, as many companies in the industry do not. It provides their customers with convenience and an overall more positive experience.

Lack of Transparency

Their website doesn't have a lot of information. Only one package price is listed at $2.75/month, which seems suspiciously low for a hosting service. Customers are also not able to find general company information on their website, such as data center information, or reliability metrics. Promises and guarantees are listed on their site without any figures or testimonials to back them up. This lack of readily available information lowers Just Host's credibility.

Technical Team Issues

Their sales team is very responsive and friendly, but their tech/support team is very hard to contact. Hold times are excessive, sometimes up to 30 minutes for their online chat. When customers actually get a hold of a member of their tech team, they're not especially helpful. Customers need to be prepared to wait a few minutes for a response on their online chat. They also need to be prepared for their questions to be answered with links to webpages full of information instead of straight answers from a representative.

The Bottom Line

For customers looking for a super inexpensive hosting service, Just Host may be a good option. As long as their site is low maintenance and the site owner is confident they won't need much tech support. If your needs are not simple, we recommend using a different web hosting company for your needs.

I was with Blue Host for 10 years. They closed down my websites for spam. It took REPEATED calls over months and months PLUS my tech guy to sort this out with them. Apparently the issue was malware in the PHP on the backend of my site. My tech guy said that he's never seen this before and that if my sites were hosted by GoDaddy or other, they never would have had this spam issue. Blue Host blamed me for the spam and said it was my responsibility to make sure the backend of the websites which they host are cleaned up. They offered to clean it up for a few hundred dollars. Worst is that yes, you can get to a person however they will never escalate you to get your problem resolved and the "resolution" department is non-existant. I've spent countless hellish hours over 5 months trying to resolve my issue and get my websites live again. And they're still not. AVOID Blue host!
