Top Ranked Companies

The Good

  • Great services and features
  • Customer service options

Services and Features

FatCow offers a huge range of services to make it a one-stop-shop for business owners. We think this is a huge plus. Add to that the fact that they have been in business for over nineteen years and you have a company that will inspire confidence in many potential clients. Some of their services include the following.
  • Website creation
  • Free consultation
  • Website security and 24/7 technical support including daily backups
  • Assistance with search engine optimization
  • Marketing services including how to advertise locally and raise awareness of your company

Customer Service

FatCow also offers great customer service options including phone, email, live chat, and an extensive knowledge base. This knowledge base can be used by customers to find answers to common questions they may have. We like that FatCow offers all of these great customer service options, as many companies in the industry do not. It provides their customers with convenience and an overall more positive experience.

The Bad

  • Cluttered website
  • No cloud hosting
  • No managed hosting

Cluttered Website

When it comes to negative aspects of FatCow, we would have to say that their own website could be a little less cluttered. While we recognize they have a lot of services to offer, let us not forget they are the professed experts at website creation and optimization. We don't think it unreasonable they portray their expertise on their own site. We just think it could be laid out in a more organized fashion.

Hosting Options

FatCow offers several web hosting options, however they could offer more. We would like to see FatCow extend their services to include cloud and managed web hosting options. This provides more options and customization for customers who would benefit more from plans that included cloud and managed hosting options.

The Bottom Line

Overall we would recommend using FatCow for your web hosting needs. While we aren't fans of the layout of the website itself, the fact they have been in business since 1998 tells us they are doing something right. We do like the numerous and customizable packages they offer. We think this feature makes them attractive to a variety of businesses of various sizes. Their customer service and live chat representatives are friendly and helpful. For those of you environmentally minded, it should be noted that FatCow's offices and data centers are all powered by wind energy. All in all, we think that FatCow is a safe choice for anyone with a small to medium sized business.

David Beatty Albuquerque, NM

Within 48 hours of purchasing a domain and web hosting from FatCow for my at-home business, I was getting emails and text messages about setting up a website, creating a logo, marketing my business, etc. Even though I bought privacy protection to prevent this kind of invasion of my privacy, FatCow obviously thought it was okay to sell my contact information as quickly as they could. I'll be changing to a different webhost and registrar as quickly as I can.
