Armor Defense, Inc. was formerly known as Firehost, but the company transitioned into a new name and corporate identity in August of 2015 to reflect their evolution towards offering a broader portfolio of cybersecurity products beyond their own cloud hosting. They have a high uptime at 99.99 percent that is backed up by a money-back guarantee.

Cloud and Managed Web Hosting
Armor offers many great plans for customers managed cloud web hosting needs. If customers need a managed cloud web host with amazing security options, Armor may be the company to provide those services for you.
- Lack of transparency
- Limited web hosting options
- Only one plan available
Lack of Transparency
Armor doesn't provide a great deal of transparency in pricing on its home page. Their services are clearly geared towards offering higher-end solutions for businesses instead of lower-end web hosting, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's something for potential clients to keep in mind. They also lack transparency with their storage and bandwidth limits. Almost all companies in the industry are very upfront with these numbers, and many are allowing unlimited data on their plans. We would like to see Armor be more upfront with these items.
Managed Cloud Web Hosting Only
Armor only offers managed cloud web hosting, which greatly limits their customers. We would like to see Armor extend their services to include shared, dedicated, and VPS web hosting options. This provides more options and customization for customers who would benefit more from plans that included these hosting options. Armor also only offers one plan, which does not allow for much scalability for their customers.
The Bottom Line
Armor has top-of-the-line security that is well above the competition. However, Armor is also lacking a great deal of transparency in pertinent information such as pricing and data limits. They also only offer managed cloud web hosting with one plan. For these reasons, we do not recommend using Armor's services at this time.
