The Bad

  • Baggage and Cancelation Coverage
  • Primary Medical Coverage Required

Baggage and Cancelation Coverage

GeoBlue focuses on Travel Medical and international health insurance, rather than trip or vacation insurance. Not all plans include baggage, travel delay, or trip cancelation coverage. The Voyager plans for single-trips do have baggage loss, but it is a $500 per trip benefit with $100 max per damaged or lost luggage item or personal effect.

Primary Medical Coverage Required

Most GeoBlue plans require that you already have a primary health insurance plan.

The Bottom Line

Travel insurance from this well-known health insurance provider offers a variety of medical benefits, but fewer trip insurance-type benefits.

On the plus side, pre-existing medical conditions are covered in three out of four plans and the medical coverage options offer in-depth explanations of benefits and access to a pre-arranged, elite network of doctors and hospitals, no matter where your travel plans take you.
