The Good

  • Caters to international travelers
  • Mobile app

Caters to International Travelers

Booking.com caters to travelers of all origins by providing pricing information in multiple currencies, including the U.S. dollar, the euro, the Singaporean dollar, the pound sterling, the Canadian dollar, the Australian dollar, the Argentine peso, the Brazilian real, the Chinese yuan, the Jordanian diner, the New Israeli sheqel, and the Thai baht. Booking.com also provides several languages on its website, including English, French, German, Russian, Latvian, Indonesian, and Vietnamese.

Mobile App

Booking.com provides a mobile app for Apple and Android that allows travelers to easily switch between their computer, smartphone, and tablet. Creating and signing into a Booking.com account makes it possible for travelers to sync previous searches, viewed hotels, and stored credit cards. The mobile app also makes offline confirmations possible, eliminating the need for printers and internet when checking in.

The Bad

  • No rewards program
  • Undisclosed travel protection
  • Lack of services

No Rewards Program

Booking.com has not established a rewards program for its customers. Regardless of how loyal a customer may be, there isn't a significant return for regularly choosing to utilize Booking.com.

Undisclosed Travel Protection

Booking.com has not disclosed whether or not it offers travel insurance to cover booking cancellations, unsatisfactory rooms, or damage to property.

Lack of Services

Booking.com is limited in that it only offers booking services for hotels. The company does not allow customers to book flights, car rentals, cruises, or vacation packages.

The Bottom Line

Booking.com caters to international travelers and offers a mobile app, but the company does not provide a rewards program or and only allows customers to book hotels.

I've used Booking.com on numerous occasions when looking for a hotel. Their site layout is easy to read and booking a hotel is quick and easy. I also like that I don't need to put any money down right away to reserve a hotel.
