A benefit to selecting Virginia College is that it has Career Services associates who assist in placing you in a job once you've completed your education. Virginia College's Career Services department can assist you in reviewing your resume, teaching interviewing techniques, career counseling, career and job market research, and assisting you in finding a job. Although an overall job placement percentage is not known, the school does provide you with resources to assist you in your post-education job search.
Choosing to complete a degree or certificate program is sometimes difficult when it comes to working it in around your schedule. Virginia College offers day and night classes in order to accommodate working students. Some of the classes are even available online, which adds to the flexibility and accommodation of your education.
Virginia College offers roughly 40 programs including, information technology, health and medical, culinary arts, cosmetology and therapeutic massage, and business. These programs offer diplomas and certificates, associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees. A unique feature of Virginia College is that it also offers four unique trade certifications, such as CDL Combination Truck Driver Training, HVAC-R Technician (Associate's Degree and Certificate), and Welding Technician. This wide range of programs is to appeal to those looking to immediately further their careers or to change job specialties.

This is a great benefit if you are looking to complete school close to home. If these locations, however, are not in your local area, Virginia College also offers ten programs online in the areas of business and health and medical services.
One potential downside in applying to Virginia College is that not a lot of information is posted regarding the admissions process. In fact, the College insists that if you would like to learn more about the process, you need to contact an admissions representatives. Virginia College does share that a lengthy application and essays are not part of the process. In order for you to learn more, you will need to call a representative or start the enrollment process online.
Virginia College touts that a benefit to enrolling is that there are no hidden fees in the process. However, tuition does vary based on the program you are interested in. You will need to consider roughly $15,000 to upwards of $45,000 for a program at Virginia College. This will also include indirect costs such as housing, transportation, and personal expenses. Depending on the program you're interested in, the cost of tuition might be a downside. Keep in mind that 95 percent of Virginia College students receive financial aid through the federal government and work-study options are available.
Virginia College functions solely on the money made from tuition fees. This isn't a bad aspect but rather more of an annoying part of the process as a lot of the information on the College's website directs you to an Admission Associate or Financial Planning Associate. In fact, you may feel bombarded online by the number of times you are asked to chat or speak with an admission representative. Be careful about filling out a form and giving out your contact information as schools who use this approach tend to more sales-minded and persistent.
