In late 2015, iYogi was sued by the state of Washington for allegedly pressuring consumers into buying software they didn't need. The charges were called unfair and deceptive that violate the Washington Consumer Protection Act. President Vishal Dhar has labeled the accusations as "false and baseless" and defended iYogi as a company focused on customer service that addresses a genuine need.
From what we were able to gather, iYogi does not charge for tech support on a month-to-month or one-time-fix basis. Customers for home use must purchase an annual plan that can be renewed the following year for a lower price. Those who want iYogi for business use must contact iYogi to retrieve a quote.
iYogi is one of the largest independent tech support companies in the world with five office across multiple continents. The company offers a vast variety of services for both at-home users and businesses. However, the recent scam allegations could be a serious turn-off for potential customers. New users would be encouraged to tread with caution around iYogi.
