ezStorage is a self-storage company located in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The company boasts some 41,000 outdoor-storage units in seven size configurations, with the option of a climate-controlled environment. ezStorage strives to be a one-stop shop for movers by selling moving supplies onsite. However, they do not provide moving-truck rental while many of their competitors do, putting them at a slight disadvantage. With competitive prices, flexible access hours, and ample security measures, ezStorage is worth a closer look.
Though ezStorage is only located in three states, they are the largest self-storage company in their region. The company has 41,000 storage units in 7 different sizes. The units range in size from 5'x5' to 10'x30' with the option of drive-up access or indoor units depending on the level of security and protection needed. ezStorage also offers climate-controlled units for those storing items that may become damaged when exposed to extreme temperatures.
Of all the storage companies that we have reviewed around the country, ezStorage has some of the best-security options in place. While gated access is pretty much an industry standard, ezStorage also has a resident manager onsite, surveillance cameras throughout their facilities, and an active alarm system which sets them apart.
For all the services available from ezStorage, they offer fair and competitive prices. Similarly priced companies have fewer sizes to choose from, fewer security measures in place, and don't sell moving supplies onsite. With that said, they aren't the lowest price out there either. Several of their competitors offer similar services for nearly $10 less per month.
One thing that may become inconvenient to ezStorage customers is the limited time frame that they can access their storage unit. Though the units can be accessed between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., this window may not be ideal to everyone. This could be a red flag, especially when their are other companies out there with 24 hour access.
Another-possible negative is that ezStorage doesn't provide any information is regards to reimbursement for early checkout or prorated prices. This could be a bad thing for someone who decides to they no longer need to store their belongings part way through a month. This could lead to a customer paying a lot more money then they really have to.
Many self-storage companies own moving trucks and keep them onsite for their customers' use when moving in or out. ezStorage doesn't offer this feature which could be a turn-off to some. If a consumer is looking for a one-stop experience where they can rent a moving truck, purchase moving supplies, and store their goods, ezStorage isn't providing them with that experience.
