The Bad

  • Limited State Availability

Limited State Availability

Currently, Sunsmart Technologies only operates in Missouri. While being a local company comes along with its own set of advantages, only being available in one state greatly limits the number of customers who have the ability to do business with Sunsmart Technologies.

The Bottom Line

Sunsmart Technologies is a fairly new company in the solar industry, but it appears to be off to a good start with an impressive list of customers. However, the company's website lacks transparency and makes it difficult for potential customers to see exactly what Sunsmart Technologies offers. If you live in Missouri, Sunsmart Technologies might be a good option for you, but if you live elsewhere, you won't have much luck with this company.

MARK X. MILLER Green Ridge, MO

I fell for all the lies the salesman spun to us. He stated rebates not credits and they did not pay off the first of two loans. We have two loans going to Enerbank right around $450.00 total. We save right around $100-150 a month which means we lose money each month. Our system was on for around a week before we called the electric company (KCP&L) and then sunsmart to get the solar power into our house. We were told during the installation that KCP&L required the solar to go down when there power went down. Today we find out there is a switch box below the inverter that once turned on the grid is turned off and then we are on pure solar. The installation crew did not have a probe device to tell them where the live wires were that ran to our two separate garages so they took the trencher and set it "hopefully" above the buried electric cables. Good thing they guessed right. We were also promised the connector that shows our solar power would be monitored by Sunsmart. Whatever you do don't use Sunsmart they are not to be trusted.

After we where swindled by Greg A. We tried to cancel or pay 7 grand for canceling. We got it and it payed for itself 1 time in a year and it was because our air conditioner was down. We have Enlighten to keep track of panels but haven’t worked since Jan 2017. Called a million times and nobody has responded

Do not trust, company has been avoiding resolving a simple warranty issue with a cracked panel. I get no responses on the status and have no confidence in their ability to resolve this or any future issues that I may have.
