After having a SunPower technician visit to correct what he called Comcast's problem, I called Comcast. Their technician told me it was SunPower's problem. The first tech wrote that the latter tech should check my "Wi-Fi for connectivity problems and to disable any firewalls that may be preventing connection of solar panels." Each blames the other.

It is a waste to choose this company and their sales people. The rep came to our house and said he was quoting a larger system then we would need. Apparently, he can't do math based on our electric bills because our lease and electric is about the same as before. Very minimal savings.

If I could get rid of SunPower I would and would not recommend anyone use them. There customer service is a joke. I moved into a new home and submitted the proper paperwork to activate my solar panels. They contacted me three months later while on vacation requesting I need to activate my solar when I had already submitted the proper paper work and they drop the ball because they didn’t do their part. Then I receive an email instructing me on how to turn on the solar. AT&T/Directv/Amazon all sent out technicians to explain everything and answer all of my questions. SunPower wanted me to activate my own solar with email instructions(really). I have the highest electric bill I have ever had and have not saved a penny with this lousy company. Don’t use them, do your research and find a better company than SunPower.

Customer service sucks. I am not seeing any hardly savings at all. My electric bills is still running at $350.00 a month I had a whooping savings of $89.00. My bill for Sun pro is $189.00 a month which means I am paying an extra $100.00 a month for my electric bill. I faxed them copies of my electric bill a month ago as requested and still have not received a phone call from them. They called me today after I sent an letter to them on there site and the customer service rep can not get hold of a supervisor. Is there anyway I can get out of this contract? Probably not. I will be getting hold of the BBB if I do not get any response.

We installed Sunpower for a personal friend. The installation company is no longer in business. Their inverter is no longer working because they said it somehow got some water damage and it is not covered under warranty. Everything was installed correctly but moister got into the inverter and they said even though it is in within the 5 year warranty moister damage is not covered. So now they are paying for a system that does not work. The faulty box that it is in that lets moister in is Sunpower a fault... not ours and should be covered. This is not right and we are so angry. Has anyone sued over this as this is a next step we are thinking

I had solar panels installed in August. They stopped working in March 2019. My electric bills show no solar generated. Company refuses to address bill Solare panels installed in August 2018. Panels shorted out in March 2019. Company repaired the problem in October 2019. Con Edison bill shows no solar generated from March 2019 through October 2019, when panels were malfunctioning. My electric bills for the period March, April May and June July August were over $1,000.00. Bill stated no solar generated. I called Con Edison and was told I needed to call Sunpower Con Edison would not comment on the solar problem. I also have a payment to Sunpower monthly of $137.00 I started calling Sunpower in March to have the panels checked. Company gave me the runaround for 5 months. A technician came the home in June. I spoke to this tech and showed him the bills. He stated that as far as he could see the panels generated no solar. He put in an order for repair. A second technician came in October and repaired the system. I was told by Sunpower that a yearly check was done to see how much solar was generated and if the system failed to generate a certain amount of solar, I would be reimbursed for the shortage. I have been waiting for a copy of the report since August, with no response. I received a call on October 30 2019, i was told by the employee (Rian F - California Office) that my panels generated a sufficient amount of solar power (8065 kilo watts) . Sunpower owed me no reimbursement. I requested to have a representative come to my home and explain the finding and I was told Sunpower does not do this. I asked to have the solar panels removed due to problems with the equipment within 7 months of installation. I was told this will not happen. I asked for the address and phone number for ant east coast offices. I was given the office location of 102 West 38 Street New York NY. When I asked for a phone contact I was told they have no NY phone numbers and was referred to the 1-800 SUNPOWER customer service. I requested a supervisor. I was put on hold for 30 minutes and when the employee returned i was told there was no supervisor available but if I wanted someone would call me back in 24 hours. The person calling me back would most likely not be a supervisor. The call was ended at this point.

I've had a Sunpower system for 5 years. It's been great, until you need help. I am remodeling and need to move the inverter. I've called twice and been told I'd receive an email or response in 24 hours. 5 days later, still nothing. I don't know why they can't get information to service techs. My project is on hold and I am paying contractors to wait for Sunpower!

Good visit from salesman and site surveyor. But, we have asked Danian P twice (9/27 and 10/2) for three homeowner references within 10 mile of us (Byron. IL). No response yet. During the sales call, somehow we were led to believe that we could store energy for use during a Com Ed power outage, and now we know that that is not possible without purchasing other equipment elsewhere. Since the quoted contract would only save us about $30/mo, we are are still reviewing our decision.

Our solar has been down going on two months. we've been told by the contractor that Sunpower would be contacting us directly to send a person out figure out why the system is not producing. That was two weeks ago. After one week of not hearing from them, I called them. I was told I would be receiving a call and now its been two weeks and still nothing. I am now paying for a system that doesn't work and also a PG&E bill.

System worked for 5 months then went down. It's now 3+ months later and the system still isn't working. And after MULTIPLE trips by SunPower they still have no idea what's wrong or how to fix it. Customer support is pretty much useless and the field technicians sent out have no idea what they're doing. I would never, ever recommend SunPower to anyone.

6 years it's never produced a 11000 KW They said it would produce. Customer service is the worse!!!!

The young man that came to our house was nice, polite and seemed informed. Why I am giving only 3 stars is that we requested a quote if we bought the unit outright and we never received it. We were not impressed with the company overall because of the lack of follow through.

Our SunPower system was installed by ProVoltz who at the time was a full service company for SunPower systems. In June the SunPower monitoring system failed to notify me or the company when it stopped generating power. Apparently the monitoring system has been designed with no ability to notify anyone about problems. I happened to notice a light that flashed amber periodically on the Inverter a couple of days after the failure. I followed up by checking to find we were not getting any power generation. I immediately called ProVoltz but after a couple of days I never received a call back from their office. I still had the cell number for the owner of ProVoltz and called him directly. Then I found out that he now only does sales and I must go to Sunpower directly for help. In the meantime I had found the inverter was displaying the message “Error! Int. Error E031”. With a few quick internet searches I learned this is a common failure mode with our model of inverter and it requires that the inverter must be replaced. My nightmare started as I began my journey with SunPower support. In my first call to the 800 help line the person answering did everything possible to try to send me back to ProVoltz. After 20 minutes with me insisting that the owner of ProVoltz told me my support must come from SunPower they finally opened a case and said someone would call to set up an appointment. In a couple of days a scheduler called and said the first available appointment would be a month later. When that appointment took place the technician spent 45 minutes to determine that the inverter needed to be replaced. One of the reasons everything takes so long is that the customer facing individuals don't seem to know much and have no authority to do anything. They are constantly calling someone else at every step to find out what to do next. I was then told that the replacement inverter had to be ordered and it would take three to four weeks for it to arrive. I waited a month and heard nothing. I have now called the help desk again and, only after asking to talk to the person's manager was I promised a call back from scheduling in a couple of days. I have lost two and one-half months of power generation in the most productive time of the year and I am still waiting. Clearly SunPower has no regard for their existing customers. This is the kind of service I expect on a $200 computer, not a $24,000 solar system.

The guy who contacted me evidently looked at older aerial photos of my house and informed me that there were trees which would need to be removed, so my house was not a good candidate for solar. I emailed him back and told him that the trees have already been removed and my roof gets lots of sun. He did not bother to reply. I am very disappointed with this company and its representative.

Sunpower is the best choice that I have made. I am running my air-conditioning in 3 rooms and I am only paying less than $100.00 per month thanks to Sunpower. In fact they are only covering 75% of my home due to my neighbor trees partially blocked.

We have been promised a status update from you since 8/15/2019. You left me a message on Friday to call you get a status update and to understand my concerns. You ask for a call back time and phone number which I gave you in a returned call. The information I left went to your voice mail because you didn't accept the call. I followed up later in the day and was told you left for the day. I was assured you would call on Monday. It is now 1:30 PM and no call. Sunpower has known for over a month that our system was not performing to specifications based on the monitoring you do daily. I called you immediately upon receiving last months production report. The response I got was boiler plate response - shading of the panels and dirty panels. Neither would cause NO PRODUCTION ( that's 0 production) for days at a time. We expect you to be as concerned about the lack of production as I am. Obviously that is an erroneous assumption. Please give me your plan and schedule for bringing our system to within specified production levels. Don
