Solar Grids is a company committed to providing clean, affordable solar energy to business owners and homeowners across the United States. The company is headquartered in Nebraska and has franchise locations primarily in the southern half of the United States, ranging from California and Arizona to Georgia and Florida.

Solar Grids is a new company, founded in 2020, that saw an opportunity in the electricity industry to offer customers the chance to be energy independent. It wants to give people the peace of mind that comes from owning their own private solar grid, which decreases dependence on big utility companies and also provides energy security in the case of natural disasters or power outages.

The company offers a hassle-free process from start to finish. Its representatives will do everything from planning and permitting to installation and maintenance. All you have to do to get started is sign up for a free quote, and Solar Grids will take it from there.

The Good

  • Energy Independence
  • Locations
  • Franchise Opportunities

Energy Independence

Solar Grids is committed to not just installing a solar system for your home or business, but also reducing your utility costs and enabling you to be energy independent. This means that your solar panels produce enough energy to meet your needs, and you don’t have to rely on or pay a third-party to provide your electricity. This is especially helpful if you live in a place prone to power outages or natural disasters.

With an effective solar system installed, you will not be tied to the main energy grid and will keep power even when your city is experiencing an outage.

Locations

Even though Solar Grids is a new company, it already has at least 15 franchise locations with more on the way. Plus, while the company does not have any Utah locations, one customer review is from a customer in Utah, so it seems the company is willing to come to you if it doesn’t have a location in your area. The existing Solar Grids locations are in the following states:

  • Arizona
  • California (2)
  • Colorado (2)
  • Florida (2)
  • Georgia (3)
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Nebraska
  • Texas (2)

More locations are coming soon to California, Iowa, Ohio, and Missouri.

Franchise Opportunities

If you are looking to enter the solar industry as a professional, Solar Grids offers a franchisee training program and is looking for managers to open new locations across the country.

The Bad

  • No Portfolio
  • No Loan Options Available

No Portfolio

A lot of solar companies that we’ve reviewed have online portfolios where potential customers can see photos of previously completed projects or different types of projects that the company can complete.

Solar Grids does not seem to offer anything like this. This may be due to the fact that the company has been in business for only a short time; however, its website says it has completed thousands of projects already, so we’d like to see some of those results displayed.

No Loan Options Available

While we can’t find a lot of pricing information on Solar Grids’ website, from what we can tell it does not offer a loan option for its solar panels and grids. It does, however, offer options to buy or lease solar panels.

The Bottom Line

Solar Grids is a growing solar company dedicated to bringing affordable energy to customers across the United States. Likely because it’s a new company, it doesn’t have a robust portfolio, or as much experience as other solar companies we’ve reviewed, but it would still be worth getting a free quote from the company if you are interested in making the transition to solar.

Amazing customer service. It felt like they really cared about getting me the best price and saving me the most money. My panels are powering my house and pool with no issues whatsoever. 10/10 !

Installed a 22 panel system in September 2021, and was promised it would produce 11,370 kWh a year. Installers placed some of the panels on the east and west facing roof instead of the south as outlined in the proposal. Seller promised to make it right if it didn't produce as promised. After a year it is underproducing and I am stuck having to pay $2,800.00 out of my pocket to get it right because the sell is refusing to do the right thing.
